MONIKA HOFFMAN is a Swedish singer with Hungarian-German roots. She is at home not only in classical music, latin, jazz and pop, but also in three languages, namely Swedish, Hungarian and English – all of which she uses for shades of musical expression that are quite distinct. Monika Hoffman studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she played with legends like Michael Brecker and Charlie Haden. In Hungary she became well known for participating in the TV show Megasztár – Voice of the Year, which resulted in a recording contract and a spot in the Hungarian finals for the Eurovision Song Contest

Christine Kamau

Christine Kamau is a Kenyan Trumpeter, Composer and Performing Artist. Her music is a fusion of Jazz, Funk, Soul, Benga and Chakacha. Kamau credits her musical influences to Hugh Masekela, Maroon Commandos, Miles Davis among others. In 2012, Christine Kamau released an 8-track instrumental Afro-Jazz album titled 'This is for You'. The album offers an exciting listening experience, the music being a fusion of jazz with African music elements of ‘Benga’ and Rhumba’. This debut release earned positive reviews from the music community and also saw Kamau featured on a BBC music program titled ‘Africa Beats’ a series that showcased emerging music talent from Africa

Birgit Ulher studied the visual arts, which still have an important influence on her music. Since moving to Hamburg in 1982 she has been involved in free improvisation and experimental music. Since then she has developed an individual musical language. She works mainly on extending the sounding possiblities of the trumpet and has developed her own extended techniques and preparations for producing these sounds.

Besides this material research she is especially interested in the relation between sound and silence and connecting visual arts with music.
Recent works include videos and sound installations.

Longineu Parsons is a musician and composer who is hailed internationally by critics as one of the world’s finest trumpet players. Parsons is a master of trumpet, a composer, a multi-instrumentalist, a singer and a stage performer. Over his career, he has performed in over 30 countries in the Americas, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa, and has shared the stage with the likes of Branford Marsalis and Cab Calloway. Longineu is an Associate Professor of Trumpet at Florida A&M University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, Florida. Locally, Longineu has participated in the Jacksonville Jazz Festival on 10 occasions

Born and raised in the Mission District of San Francisco to parents from Diriamba, Nicaragua, Silva composed the album to be a rich sonata, or musical journey that reflects the influences that conceived his artistic persona; a dynamic product of the Americas. “I come from a strong Nicaraguan family, rooted in complex mythology and spiritual traditions,” Silva says. “I also grew up in the Mission, which offered me a range of powerful influences from Aztec dancing to Afro Cuban Santeria and everything in between and it all shines through on the album.” Compositionally Silva fuses Afro-Cuban ritual drumming, Funk, EDM, Dixieland, Jazz, instrumental Pop and other styles, while paying homage to the tradition of trumpet players and composers that came before him
