Kendall Moore

Born:
Kendall Moore is an active trombonist, composer, and arranger in the Miami metropolitan area. In 2008, he received his B.M. in Jazz Studies from Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts, where he studied with Tom Garling and Jay Friedman. In 2010, he received his Master’s Degree in Studio Jazz Writing from University of Miami, where he studied under Gary Lindsay, Whit Sidener, and Dante Luciani. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Jazz Performance from the University of Miami. While at Roosevelt University, Kendall was given the opportunity to play with guest artists such as Ralph Bowen, Wycliffe Gordon, Rob McConnell, John Swana, Paul Wertico, and Lew Soloff. At the University of Miami, Kendall has been a member of the school’s premier large ensemble, the Concert Jazz Band, and has had the opportunity to work with such artists as Gary Burton, Sam Rivers, Chris Potter, Dave Koz, Eric Marienthal, John Clayton, Jeff Hamilton, and many others

Jimmy Wilkins

Jimmy Wilkins' impressive portfolio includes 36 years fronting a big band in Detroit, and countless sessions with Motown artists such as Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, Gladys Knight and Junior Walker. On the jazz side Jimmy has worked with Clark Terry, Count Basie and Dizzy Gillespie.

Andy Kleindienst

Born and raised in North Carolina, Andy Kleindienst is a professional trombonist and electric bassist specializing in jazz, classical, and Latin American musical styles. He holds a Master’s in Music from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University and a Bachelor’s in Music from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His primary trombone teachers have included Conrad Herwig, Mike Kris, and Mitch Butler. Since 2005, Andy has contributed to the vibrant and growing music scene in central North Carolina. This includes being co-director for Orquesta GarDel from 2007-2013, a member of the John Brown Jazz Big Band, and the director of the Charanga Carolina ensemble at UNC Chapel Hill

David Chamberlain

Born:
Raised in Buffalo, Dave Chamberlain began playing trombone at the age of ten, inspired by watching his four cousins playing in a brass quartet on the Ed Sullivan Show. He began doubling on flute in high school, going on to earn a B.S. degree in flute, and later an M.S. in trombone. His primary teachers have been Anthony Gorruso, John Wummer, Carmine Caruso, John Swallow, and John Rojak. Since coming to New York, Dave has added the bass trombone, tuba, euphonium, and bass trumpet to his arsenal. Band of Bones is his fourth CD as a leader. Dave's other projects are the Hora Decima Brass Ensemble (www.horadecima.com, Summit Records) and the Afro-Caribbean group Direct Latin Influence (www.directlatininfluence.com, two self-produced CDs.) Dave has played with Jaki Byard's Apollo Stompers, Dean Pratt, Mike Longo, Gary Morgan's Pan Americana, Bill Whited, and Sam Rivers

Don Collins

Trombonist Don Collins has based his career out of Philadelphia since 1986. He is the recipient of the 2014 Philadelphia Clef Club Jazz Award for trombone, and can frequently be heard performing with his own groups, as well as the Urban Guerilla Orchestra (or UGO for short, now entering its 15th year), the Cintron Band(since 1994, starting with the recording Musica Caliente featuring Michael Pedicin), Orquesta del Barrio( founding member 1989), Edgar Joel Orchestra and Anthony Colon Orchestra(both since the mid 1990’s), and the April 2017 premier performance of the Louis Taylor Big Band at the Clef Club. Notable engagements include, Philadelphia’s 2016 July 4th Welcome America Festival, where UGO performed with the Intruders, Harold Melvin’s Blue Notes and the O’Jays; Sheryl Lee Ralph's Divas Simply Singing! at the Dell East, to benefit HIV/AIDS awareness; the Legends of Salsa Concert at the Levoy Theatre (Millville, NJ); the 10th annual Capital Jazz Supercruise with UGO, The 40th Anniversary Performance of the Brass of Peace in Alexandria, VA (founding member); the 15th Annual Martin Luther King Jazz Vespers Concert in York, PA under the direction of Jeff Stabley; 1st Fridays "Jazz in the City" concert at the Strand Theater (York ,PA) with Jeff Stabley, James Collins and Ellington Orchestra bassist Hassan Shakur; the first official performance of the Fathers and Sons Quartet ,with vocalist Rhenda Fearrington at the Milton Theatre (Milton, DE); and the 5th Annual Soul Train Cruise performing with UGO, Melba Moore, Cherrelle, The Sounds of Blackness, The Intruders and Harold Melvin’s Blue Notes. Don began his musical studies at age 7 on piano, then took up euphonium, and subsequently the trombone at the age of 9

Kasperi Sarikoski

Kasperi Sarikoski is a trombonist and composer from Finland. Having lived in both Helsinki and New York as well as performed from São Paolo to Cape Town and Shanghai, Kasperi’s career has encompassed a broad array of musical ventures. He has played with the Jazz At Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, the Stockholm Jazz Orchestra, the UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra, Chris Cheek, as well as most of Finland’s leading jazz musicians. In addition to his work as a sideman Kasperi has toured with his own group Nuance. His debut album Essence was released in 2015, while his sophomore effort 3 + 1 was released in 2020.

Greg Nielsen

Sarasota FL based Greg Nielsen plays a number of brass instruments, including trumpet, trombone and flugelhorn. He has performed with artists such as, Slide Hampton, Nancy Wilson, the Four Tops, Cab Calloway & Ramsey Lewis. He has also shared the stage with Nat Adderly, Al Cohn, Bobby Shew & many others. Locally, he performs with various big bands, small groups and with concert orchestras in the Tampa Bay area and Southwest Florida, backing many of the top jazz and pop performers. In addition to performing, Nielsen has been music instructor at Booker Middle School, inspiring and cultivating young musicians for over 27 years.
