Paula Maya

Paula Maya is an award winning Brazilian pianist, keyboardist, singer, composer and recording artist, nominated Best Brazilian Musician living in the US. The official release of her eleventh album Mar da Minha Terra, Yellow House Records, is July 25th 2023.

Paula Maya has songs in several compilations with artists such as Jimmy Cliff. She holds a degree from the Brazilian Conservatory of Music in Rio de Janeiro. Her compositions have roots in Brazilian traditional rhythms and melodies, such as maracatú, baião and samba. They are also inspired and influenced by bossa nova, jazz, blues, Cuban music and African music.

Born in Guadalajara, Mexico, Tom began playing at an early age. His music lies in the intersection of conceptual composition and soulful improvisation. His work overlaps many genres such as jazz, free improvisation and the blues. Since 2008 he has been active in the jazz and improvisational music scene of Mexico, USA and Central America, working with musicans such as Gustavo Nandayapa, Brian Allen, Hans Glawischnig, Blair Latham, Gabriel Puentes, Tyler Mitchell, Pablo Aguirre, Elliott Levin, Adonis Rose and many others. Jeff Morris is an improviser, coder, and composer. His live sampling debut album, Interfaces (Ravello Records) explores different ways for a computer performer to fit in a jazz trio without dominating it (like Ornette Coleman thought of the piano for forty years). Jeff is joined by free jazz legend Karl Berger (vibes, piano) and NYC dynamo Joe Hertenstein (drums, found percussion). In all his work, Jeff creates experiences that engage audiences’ minds with their surroundings.
