Svend Undseth

Born:

Svend Undseth is a flautist/saxophonist who has been part of the jazz-rock scene since its infancy. Undseth's muscial career has embraced many genres, but in his new album The Neon Jazz Collection, he is returning to his early inspiration. His early albums with his first group, Vanessa, were pioneering works in the jazz rock canon, and in returning to his roots he has found new inspiration. His work with Prima Vista. collects the lyrical threads woven from the past as he once again let the melody guide the compositions.Svend started his musical career as a leader and later CO-leader with Frode Holm in the jazz-rock group Vanessa back in 1971.The group made two albums, "City Lips" 1973 and "Black and White" 1977.He released his first solo album "Grenseland" on Polygram in 1980

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded albums and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, limited reopenings and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary step that will help musicians and venues now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the sticky footer ad). Thank you!
