Johnny Iguana
Johnny Iguana, together with his longtime songwriting/producing partner JQ, is the composer of the original score for the hit FX/Hulu series “The Bear.” Chicago is Johnny’s home, but he’s still an East Coast kid at heart.
He grew up in Philadelphia, where he studied piano from age eight and played piano and organ in blues bands from age 16. He moved to New York City at age 22, where he met one of his greatest musical heroes, Junior Wells. He was hired by Junior after auditioning live at the Boston House of Blues, and moved to Chicago in February 1994. He toured with the Junior Wells Band for three years, toured with Otis Rush and recorded with Carey (and Lurrie) Bell, Lil’ Ed and more.

I started playing piano when I was seven, after listening to my grandmother play by ear for years. I studied music at UCLA where I played analog Moog for awhile before discovering how to get sounds from a computer. That was in the 1960s. Soon after, Roger Shepard (inventor of that tone) became my mentor and enabled me to use the Stanford AI Lab to play with digital sound creation and do psychoacoustic research on it. Then that turned into cofounding CCRMA, the computer music center at Stanford, where I started digitally sampling orchestral instruments and engaged in analysis and resynthesis

Dan Redner – Award-Winning Musical Director, Pianist, & Educator
Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Dan Redner is a versatile pianist in both classical and jazz traditions. A 2007 alumnus of Grand Valley State University, he has earned performance honors from Western Michigan University, Central Michigan University, Aquinas College, and the Elmhurst College Jazz Festival. He has collaborated with the Grand Rapids Symphony and the Austin Symphony Orchestra, and served as a clinic musician for jazz legend Wynton Marsalis.
Dan has performed at the T.S. Eliot Society Conference in St. Louis for the world premiere of Craig Benjamin’s opera, The Wasteland, and at the famed Rose Theater @ Jazz At Lincoln Center in NYC as the MD & Pianist for the Broadway musical revue, Sing out. In 2025, he performed with Italian tenor, Andrea Bocelli during his North American tour at Austin’s Moody Center Arena, and most recently at Bass Concert Hall with Grammy nominated, multi-instrumentalist Andrew Bird.
