Faiz Lamouri

Born in Rabat, Morocco, French saxophone player Faïz Lamouri began the study of saxophone and music at a very early age.After eight years of classical studies, he became interested in jazz through musicians like Paul Desmond, Lester Young, Charlie Parker, Sonny Rollins, Hank Mobley and John Coltrane.
In 2004, at 18 years old he enrolled at the American school of modern music in Paris where he studied under the direction of American jazz musicians such as Peter Giron and Steve Browman.
During his time in Paris, Faïz Lamouri emerged quickly as a leading figure of the Parisian jazz scene. He led a quintet that performed in the most prestigious Parisian jazz clubs like the Sunside, the Sunset and the Baiser Salé.

David Henderson - Saxophone
avid Henderson grew up in Hartford City, Indiana, and has degrees from the University of Michigan and the Juilliard School. In 1980, he gave his Carnegie Recital Hall solo debut as a winner of the East and West Artists competition, with the New York Times stating “an exceptionally accomplished instrumentalist with something to say, his work is poised, cultivated, and expressive.” In 1981, he received a first prize in saxophone from the Conservatoire de Bordeaux as a recipient of a Fulbright-ITT grant to study in France. Since moving to San Francisco in 1988, he has played regularly with the San Francisco Symphony, including several tours and three recordings under maestro Michael Tilson Thomas
