Ed Joffe

Versatile artist Edward Joffe has been a vital part of the New York music scene for forty years as a multiple woodwind performer on all saxophones, clarinets and flutes. He has performed in every type of musical situation and taught from elementary school through graduate school. A native New Yorker, Dr. Joffe performs solo recitals frequently throughout the New York metropolitan area. He holds advanced degrees from Queens College (M.S. in Music Education), The Juilliard School (M.M in Performance) and The Graduate Center of the City College of New York (D.M.A. in Performance). His musical mentors have included Joe Allard, Tom Nyfenger, Eddie Daniels, Ron Reuben, Peter Simenauer, Joseph Rabbai, Paul Dunkel, Michael Parloff, Keith Underwood, Bob Mover, Bob Porcelli and Sandra Miller.

Joris Posthumus

Born: June 21, 1973

Alto saxophonist and composer Joris Posthumus has been making music since he was six years old. He studied at the conservatory of Rotterdam and Tilburg, and at the same time founded various combos. After graduating, he created The New Quartet in order to set up live projects with leading jazz musicians, including Wolter Wierbos, Martijn Vink, Ben van den Dungen and Yuri Honing. At the end of 2007, pianist Jeroen van Vliet and drummer Pascal Vermeer had joined the Quartet. When their album 'The Abyss' was released in 2009 (distributed by Challenge), the group's name was changed to the Joris Posthumus Quartet. The album was recorded together with sound technician Chris Weeda, pianist Jeroen van Vliet, drummer Pascal Vermeer en bass player Juriaan Dekker (featuring Tom Beek)

Thomas Alm

Thomas Alm . Saxophones, compositions and arrangements . Thomas received his musical education at Berklee College of Music, and combines freelance jobs as a musician with work at an advertising agency. He has appeared on countless recordings and has performed with artists such as Sharon Dyall, LaGaylia Frasier, Svante Thuresson, Janne Åström, Jennifer Brown and others. He leads the soul band Soul Station, which among other things has made several acclaimed gigs at Stockholm jazz club Fasching and also plays in the band P- Floyd. Born: March 8, 1974

Lewis started out as a classical clarinettist but at the age of 18 took up saxophone and began playing jazz. By the age of 19, while still a music student at the University of Ulster, he found himself to be a member of the Brian Irvine Ensemble as soprano saxophonist alongside the legendary English free jazz saxophonist Paul Dunmall. Working with Brian took Lewis all over Europe performing at many contemporary music and jazz festivals. This was a partnership that lasted 11 years and included performances for BBC Radio 3 with the Ulster Orchestra and also a performance with Keith Tippet. Throughout the years, Lewis has been the leader and composer for various outfits and projects

Taylor is a 26-year old saxophone player originally from Narmata, BC (just outside Penticton, in the Okanagan), currently residing in Toronto. He is a graduate of the Jazz Performance Program at the University of Toronto. The Cook Book, Taylor’s latest release, is the culmination of his original compositions that he has arranged for a variety of ensemble configurations. The CD, produced by Rolling Stones saxophonist Tim Ries, features 20 of Toronto’s finest young musicians as well as multi-Juno award winner Mike Murley. Taylor is active both as a performer and educator
