Born: September 17, 1971

E. J. Hughes is a saxophonist and woodwind performer/instructor with a background in music that began at age 10 with the recorder. The Saxophonist now in his late 40s has traveled extensively performing in many genres with a passion and deep-rooted training in Jazz, Classical, and Contemporary music. Hughes is a current instructor at Music and Arts and has helped Georgia State University’s RYJO high school jazz program. In the past, EJ was the instructor of jazz saxophone for Emory University and also taught Advanced Improvisation and Jazz applied saxophone for Georgia State University before returning to his hometown in New Hampshire to be the band director and general music instructor

Tumi Árnason

Born: January 16, 1991

Tumi Árnason is an Icelandic saxophonist, improviser & composer influenced by and drawing from the creative transcendence and open-mindedness of the avant garde, free jazz and improvised music. His 2019 record, ALLT ER ÓMÆLIÐ, was the first duo release from saxophonist Tumi Árnason and drummer Magnús Trygvason Eliassen (ADHD). The record, inspired by Greek proto-philosopher Anaximanders’ ideas about conceptual abstraction, contains a set of free improvisations and open compositions revolving around the idea of the indefinite; the nature of improvisation, structures that exist but are only hinted at, the space between sounds. Tumi Árnason's latest release is Hlýnun (2021), a piece that addresses our current existential threat, the climate crisis, through free jazz and experimental improvisation

Bernard Ayisa

Born: October 8, 1975

Bernard Ayisa, saxophonist based in Accra, started playing when he was already 16 years old. Now he has become one of the leading saxophone players in Ghana and Africa. He spent his childhood and youth in South Africa where he was taught by fellow P. Mauriat artist Dusty Cox and prof. {{m: Darius Brubeck = 5390}}. Under the guidance of the latter, Bernard toured in US and Germany with the student/staff band of the University of Natal, Durban, South Africa. He also was member of the South African Youth Big Band of Mike Campbell which took him touring in the US. Georg Wissel

Georg Wissel, (prepared) saxophones, clarinet refers to himself also as Sculptor of compressed air via (prepared) saxophones He made his first important experiences in Improvised music recording and touring in the late 80ies in Germany, France and Southamerica as guest musician of 'Pöhlmusik' along with Jon Rose. Inspired by collaborations with electronic musicians, he began also (beside working on instrumental playing-technics) searching for new sounds by preparations, which by the time has become an integral part of his playing. Adam Claussen

Originally from Derry, New Hampshire, Adam is a graduate of the University of Miami Frost School of Music with a B.M. in Studio Music & Jazz. Adam has accumulated over a decade of experience in music, and has developed professional-grade skills in saxophone/flute/clarniet performance, teaching, composition, arranging, film and media music, orchestration, video editing, and much more. At the Frost School of Music, Adam studied saxophone under Gary Keller. He has performed with many ensembles at Frost, including the Downbeat Award-winning Concert Jazz Band under the direction of Grammy-Winning musician John Daversa, the Frost Septet, and the Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra, as well as numerous other ensembles

Christoph Irniger

Christoph Irniger, born 1979, is a Swiss saxophonist, composer and bandleader. According to the Sunday edition of the Neue Zürcher Zeitung he is “undoubtedly one of the greatest talents of his generation.” In recent years, Irniger has made a name for himself in a range of line-ups, playing jazz, rock and related musical styles. As a musician from a generation which likes to work on multiple projects in eclectic styles, he leads a range of outfits, all distinct and surprising musically. The Swiss magazine Jazz ’N‘ More writes: “He comes up with something new each time by leaving the beaten tracks of sound. He doesn’t just look briefly left and right; he fights his way into the thicket.” An instrumentalist with a firm education, and a composer with an artistic vision, he consistently generates new ideas, realised thanks to a passion for music. German magazine Jazzthetik says: “People who know about jazz will confirm that he is one of the most promising musicians in contemporary Swiss jazz.”
