Jane Ira Bloom

Soprano saxophonist and composer Joe Rosenberg is a unique and compelling voice in today’s jazz. A 1995 recipient of a Jazz Performance Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, Joe has studied with the legendary Joe Viola, Buddy Collette and clarinetist John Carter. He has performed with internationally known artists such as Dewey Redman, Gary Foster, Buddy Collette, Junko Inishi, Misha Mengleberg, Mark Helias, Tom Rainey, Jean-Luc Guionnet and Edward Perraud. He make as a leader he is making "Joe Rosenberg Quartet East" with a recording titled "Version Two" with Indonesian musicians Sri Aksan Sjuman “Strongly written themes which seem to encapsulate much of what has gone on in jazz post- Parker…Tense, urgent and always immediate… a very distinctive approach to soloing” - Cook and Morton from the Penguin Guide to Jazz on CD This record was mastered by renowned mastering engineer Scott Hull, who has done all the recent Tzadik releases… In June of 2004, the Joe Rosenberg Quartet East recorded for the first time at the studio in Sai Kung

Froy Aagre

Saxophonist and composer Frøy Aagre is a rising Norwegian jazz star. Despite her young age she has developed a highly individual expression and her compositions are both imaginative and original. Reviewers have compared Aagre with saxophone legends such as Jan Garbarek, David Liebman and Wayne Shorter. Frøy Aagres recent album Countryside has received world-wide acclaim from critics and musicians alike. The album was rated as one of the top ten albums in 2007 by the Norwegian newspaper Dagsavisen. Rocky Gordon

Rocky Gordon hails originally from Philadelpha. He is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), with a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Performance, Magna Cum Laude. Rocky is currently pursuing his masters degree in jazz composition.
He spent the first part of his career as a working drummer in Las Vegas, picking up saxophone as an added voice later on.
Rocky is also a highly respected composer and arranger, having written and recorded in every musical style, from rock to jazz.
His experience is extensive, and his journey continues today in pursuit of establishing his voice as a jazz alto saxophonist /composer.

Charlie Smith

Charlie Smith has developed a unique sound as a composer and arranger as well as a saxophonist and pianist. Charlie Smith Circle, his eleven-piece jazz ensemble, has recently released its first album on Conduit Records. The record, Ahead and Behind, features Charlie's creative compositions and arrangements as well as some of the hottest jazz musicians in the Northwest. After three years away from the saxophone Charlie is now focusing on soprano as his primary performance instrument. Currently he is performing his compositions with the Victor Noriega Trio as well as much of the material from Victor's new record, Stone's Throw, for which Charlie was the Producer.
