The Jellyfish

The Jellyfish is a new ensemble brought together by saxophonist/clarinetist, Jacob Gorzhaltsan. The ensemble is rounded out by Ravi Naimpally (tabla) and Ewen Farncombe (keys). The music of the band is fully improvised or composed on the spot, blending a variety of influences, instruments, rhythms and sounds from around the world in a loop-based musical setting. With an emphasis on interaction and communication between musicians, the Jellyfish takes listeners on a musical, explorative, and psychedelic journey of spontaneous composition, with the band usually performing in a continuous hour and a half experience of free-flowing improvisation.
