Bill Reed

Born:
West Virginia-born Bill Reed is a jazz record producer, historian, author, and journalist. Reed is best known for his work in revitalizing interest in mid-century vocal jazz (in particular the One Shot Wonder genre), and for producing numerous albums for the Japanese market that have received wide international acclaim. Reed has produced more than sixty vocal jazz CDs for the Japanese market, most of which were for the label SSJ Records. Among his better known productions are a four-volume series of unreleased material by Beverly Kenney; "Down in the Depths" (2005) by singer Bill Black (culled from a fifty-year-old acetate); and the contemporary studio albums "Rain Sometimes" (2002) by Pinky Winters and "Listen Here" (2012) by Sue Raney

Truan Savage

Born:
Truan Savage is a Brooklyn-based composer, arranger and producer. His debut album, "Five Colors" features 11 original compositions melding improvisation and modern production techniques. Truan is a multi-instrumentalist who plays trumpet, piano, electric bass, guitar and a wide-array or keyboards and synthesizers on his own compositions, and is focused on expanding the roll of post-production and electronic techniques in improvised music. A 2009 graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and Oberlin College (with respective degrees in Jazz Studies and Politics), Truan has been living, working and composing in Brooklyn for three years.

Part Time Heroes

Part-Time Heroes Since releasing their debut LP “Meanwhile..” with Wah Wah 45s in 2008, Ross Wakefield and Toby Vane have given up their day jobs and immersed themselves in the world of music. Shop assistant and sandwich boy no longer, the pair toured their first album, and the remix project that followed, extensively, most notably in Japan where the Heroes have garnered a hefty underground following. As remix requests came flooding in from the likes of Tru Thoughts, Compost Records, The Jazz Invaders and MJ Cole, and the boys found themselves in demand for television and film soundtrack work, the making of the second album got a bit of a nudge on to the back burner

Lee Fletcher

Based in the South West of England Lee Fletcher is a musician, record
producer,
arranger, songwriter & mix / mastering engineer. Furthermore he creates
(predominantly music-related) film & video.
Lee has worked in a variety of audio / visual capacities with
notable artists and musicians located around the world,
helping to realise a number of critically acclaimed works. In
recent years he has combined his talents with fellow
producers / artists {{m: Markus Reuter = 18269}} (Austria), Fabio
Trentini (Italy), and Adrian Benavides (USA) to form Unsung Productions; a
collective of audio professionals dedicated to the highest working standards
and
greater musical possibilities.
Lee's extensive audio-visual portfolio is augmented by formal schooling in the
shape of a Creative Digital Media (Music Pathway) degree, for which he
achieved
1st Class / Distinction status.
Summer 2012: Lee released his debut solo album (in conjunction with co-featured artists Markus Reuter and Lisa Fletcher) entitled 'Faith in Worthless

Colman Brothers

Born:
Brothers Matt and Andrew Colman play trombone and trumpet respectively. The pair, from Bristol, have been writing together for the last 6 years. Their music combines traditional latin and jazz flavours with contemporary beats and the kind of horn power you would expect from this duo of brass masters. Mat Colman is a trombonist who can boast to having played with artists as varied as The Herbaliser, Chris Bowden, Pee Wee Ellis, Shola Ama, Ben E. King, 4-Hero, Black Grape and Suggs(!); whilst young Andrew Colman, trumpet and flugelhorn genius, has not only held his own with Corrine Bailey Rae, Peter King and Perry Hemus, but was recently voted the Young Jazz Musician of the Year! Hes also responsible for that cheeky little trumpet on Jamie Finlays rather excellent Wah Wah 45s release from 2005. The Bristol dwelling pair came up with “El Nino” whilst listening to an album by German composer and band leader, Peter Herbolzheimer, famous for his Rhythm Combination and Brass

Intelligent Audio is a London based record label, split into 2 streams: IA1 is for deep, tech house and all kinds of techno. IA2 is anything NOT house and techno. Expect broken beat, nu jazz, downtempo, chill out, lounge, smooth jazz, future jazz and all sorts! Where possible artists will fully express themselves, releasing 8 tracks simultaneously over IA1 and IA2. We also release music specific to either IA1 or IA2 depending on the artists. The vision for the label is to release 8 tracks every month - 6 weeks. Quality not quantity though - we release as and when its ready :-) Watch out for some amazing releases..

Rebecca McInroy

Rebecca McInroy began her career in radio, editing reel-to- reel tape while studying at Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, Greece. She was fascinated with sound recording, editing and story telling and when she moved back to the states she started working for KSUI and WSUI in Iowa City, IA where her love for jazz and radio first combined. She co-produced a jazz program for KSUI called As Night Falls. One of the hosts of the program was the late Frank Conroy who would share stories of jamming with Charles Mingus and other jazz legends while on the air. She landed in Austin, Texas in 2004 where she started working for KUT Radio while pursuing a graduate degree in Media Studies at the University of Texas
