Gui Duvignau

Gui Duvignau is a French-born Brazilian bassist and composer whose multi-cultural background has led to a life of traveling and musical exploration. A jazz musician and improviser in essence, he also draws inspiration from a variety of musical traditions and cultures. He is interested in creative and original music in all its forms, and is particularly dedicated to fostering deep human connection and exchange through music.

His first album Porto, in collaboration with singer Sofia Ribeiro was inspired by his time living in Portugal. The album features compositions by Sofia Ribeiro and Gui Duvignau and was released in 2010 with the support of Portuguese radio station, Antena 2.

His second album Fissura springs from his years in Paris, where it was recorded with Jonathan Orland (alto saxophone & clarinet), Julien Pontvianne (tenor saxophone & clarinet), Federico Casagrande (guitar), Thomas Caillou (guitar) and Thibault Perriard (drums). It was released in April 2016 on the Parisian label Onze Heures Onzes.

His travels led him to New York City, where he attended New York University and studied with, Drew Gress, Billy Drummond, Billy Drewes, Brad Shepik, and Michael Wolff, among others. He received his master's of music degree in May 2020. 
He is also a student of jazz legend and master bassist, Ron Carter.


His book From the Bottom Up, featuring interviews with Ron Carter, Buster Williams, Ron McClure, Mike Richmond, Jay Anderson, Drew Gress, and Christian McBride was published by Ron Carter Books in September 2020, and in Brazil by Editora Tipografia Musical with the title De Baixo Para Cima in May 2023.

His third album of original compositions, 3,5,8, was released in January 2021 by Sunnyside Records and features Billy Drewes (saxophone), Jeff Hirshfield (drums), Santiago Leibson (piano), and Elias Meister (guitar).

His album Baden is a tribute to the musical universe of legendary Brazilian musician, Baden Powell. Released in January 2022 on Sunnyside Records, it features Billy Drewes (saxophones), Lawrence Fields (piano), Jeff Hirshfield (drums), and special guests Ron Carter on bass and Bill Frisell on guitar. 

His latest album, Live in Red Hook, with pianist Jacob Sacks and drummer Nathan Ellman-Bell also features his original compositions and was released on Sunnyside Records in January 2024.

His upcoming album, Listen In, is the second installment of his trio with pianist Jacob Sacks and drummer Nathan Ellman-Bell. It also features his original compositions and will be released on Adhyâropa Records in October 2025.

He is one of the founding members of the band ContraPunctus with Mike McGinnisCarmen Staaf, and Hamir Atwal. The band performs regularly in NYC and their debut album is set for release in early 2026.

Duvignau’s music and recordings have been featured on radios across the world, in playlists on Apple Music and Spotify, and in publications such as, The New York Times, Downbeat magazine, JazzTimes, Jazziz, Jazz Magazine, Jazz News, All About Jazz, among others.

Eugenie Jones

Since she burst on the jazz scene in 2013, the award-winning, Seattle-based vocalist, composer, producer, and legacy activist Eugenie Jones has been one of our time's most evocative and evolving artists. NEA Jazz Master and bassist Reggie Workman described Jones as "an extraordinary singer, songwriter, and a source of light we're fortunate to experience." Thomas Staudter of The Gazette/New York lauded Jones for her "tremendous talent, tireless energy, and buoyant spirit," and Mark Holston of Jazziz praised Jones for her "…keen sense of phrasing, [which] makes her extremely persuasive. Like a veteran horn soloist, she slides effortlessly from one octave to the next, always landing on the right, pitch-perfect note."

Spencer Murphy

Spencer Murphy (b. Syracuse, NY) is a bassist, producer, composer, and consultant living in New York, NY.

After graduating from SUNY Purchase in 2010, he led a weekly performance at Smalls Jazz Club for several years; regular members of his quintet included Tivon Pennicott, Stacy Dillard, John Chin, and Lawrence Leathers, and guests included Melissa Aldana, Will Delisfort, Joel Frahm, Eden Ladin, Kenneth Salters, Josh Davis, and Dayna Stephens.

Murphy has collaborated with Nick Hakim, Helado Negro, Gabriel Garzon-Montano, Bartees Strange, Morgan James, and IGBO, among others. His work with Onyx Collective has spanned 5 albums and over a hundred performances, at unlikely venues including The Whitney (Jason Moran's "Jazz on a High Floor in the Afternoon"), The Guggenheim (Agathe Snow's "Stamina"), Raymond Pettibon Studio, and pop-up spaces all over downtown NYC. As a result of his longtime association with Thomas Bartlett and Reservoir Studios, he has had the opportunity to work with Oren Bloedow, Jennifer Charles, Julia Stone, Henry Jamison, and Oh Land. In October of 2021, he premiered a work for poetry and music entitled "GRASS," featuring Bartlett, Taja Cheek, Oren Bloedow, and Craig Weinrib. The same month, he originated the bass chair in Only an Octave Apart, starring Justin Vivian Bond and Anthony Roth Costanzo, with arrangements by Nico Muhly and music supervision from Bartlett. In January of 2022, alongside Bond and Roth Costanzo, he performed selections from Only an Octave Apart with The New York Philharmonic as part of their "Authentic Selves" Series. In March of 2023, he performed with Marc Anthony Thompson, Zsela Thompson, and the Scorchio Quartet at Carnegie Hall for the annual Tibet House Benefit, curated by Philip Glass.

Daniel Walzer

Daniel Walzer is an Indianapolis-based multi-instrumentalist, composer, and audio engineer. Originally trained as a percussionist, Walzer’s recording discography includes more than two dozen albums as a session musician, engineer, and producer. A versatile collaborator, Walzer’s performance credits span a wide range of commercial and art music styles and include a five-year stint living in Nashville, TN. As a composer and collaborator, Walzer’s work has been featured at the New York Electroacoustic Music Festival, the International Computer Music Festival, New Music on the Bayou, TUTTI New Music Festival, and labels including Janus Music and Sound and others. Walzer has a BM in Jazz Studies from Bowling Green State University, an MM in Jazz Studies from the University of Cincinnati, and an MFA in Music Production and Sound Design for Visual Media from Academy of Art University

Born:

Amber Navran is a LA based singer, producer, and woodwind player. She is a member of the neo-soul trio Moonchild. With Moonchild she has 4 albums out and tours world wide, opening for acts like Jill Scott, Stevie Wonder, The Internet, and Kamasi Washington. She also has two solo projects out as a producer, and guests frequently on other peoples projects, including Rapsody, 9th Wonder, R+R=NOW, Chris Dave and Daniel Crawford.

Sean Giddings is a pianist, guitarist, composer, and record producer. Born and raised in Kansas City, Sean now resides in Austin, Texas. He currently tours with both Christopher Cross and Pat Green. He has also toured and performed with Eric Johnson, Alejandro Escovedo, Cory Morrow, Wade Bowen, Mary Wilson, and the BoDeans. Magro

With his music Berlin-based drummer and producer MAGRO creates an unusual fusion of acoustic Jazz and produced Hip-Hop/RnB. His project combines many of his musical influences such as Herbie Hancock, J Dilla and Chris Dave.

After his first album “Trippin” was released in 2021 and was awarded with the “German Jazz Prize” (for “Debut Album of the Year”), Magro released his follow- up album “II” (pronounced: Two). On the album he features, among others, the up- and-coming RnB singer Leona Berlin and the New York piano virtuoso BIGYUKI.

Over the years, Magro has collaborated with numerous artists as a drummer and producer- including Kurt Rosenwinkel, Wayne Snow, The Rolling Stones Project and J Lamotta. In addition, he has been a producer on many of Leona Berlin’s albums and singles – including “Wrong Lane (featuring Snoop Dogg)“.

Rick Kilburn

Band Leader, musician, composer, award-winning record producer, engineer and educator. Rick Kilburn can lay claim to all of the above. Born and raised in a musical family from Vancouver, B.C., Kilburn grew up listening to and playing Jazz. He attended the prestigious Berklee School of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, during 1973/74, and from there moved to New York, where he worked as a bassist with such diverse players as Dave Brubeck, Mose Allison, Airto, Flora Purim and Chet Baker. After ten years in New York, Kilburn returned to the West Coast of British Columbia. He taught music and improvisation at Malaspina College on Vancouver Island from 1984 to 1987 and started his first production company, creating jingles and sound tracks for radio, television and film. Kilburn joined the faculty at Vancouver Community College in 1987, teaching bass and master classes, as well as developing a course in demo production and giving workshops in recording. From 1990 to 1995, he was on the faculty of the Jazz Workshop at the Banff Center for the Arts, originating and developing the audio portion of the program that attracts engineers from around the world
