Norman Landsberg

Norman Landsberg has been part of the bay area music scene for many years. Though trained in classical piano, he was able to draw upon the cultural diversity of his native New York City to develop a familiarity with a wide range of musical tastes and styles. His professional career started as one of the founding members of the rock group MOUNTAIN, featuring guitarist Leslie West. (Samples from songs Norman co-wrote as a member of Mountain have found a new life in current hits by such artists as Jay-Z and Kanye West, winding up in films like "Barbershop" and "The Taking of Pelham 123”). He first came to the bay area with his group “Hammer” to record an album for Bill Graham’s San Francisco Records, and subsequently moved here permanently, becoming vocal arranger and music director for the Pointer Sisters, touring extensively and making numerous television appearances with them

William Susman

American composer William Susman has created a distinctively expressive voice in contemporary classical music, with a catalog that includes orchestral, chamber, and vocal music, as well as numerous film scores. In addition to his work as a composer, he spearheads the contemporary ensemble OCTET and Belarca Records. AllMusic calls him an exemplar of "the next developments in the sphere . . . [of] minimalism," and textura describes him as “not averse to letting his affection for Afro-Cuban, jazz, and other forms seep into his creative output.” His music has earned praise from The New York Times for being “vivid, turbulent, and rich-textured,” from Gramophone as “texturally shimmering and harmonically ravishing,” and from textura for being “entrancing

Born in Richmond, VA (Aug 1983) Drew Miles' exposure to music began at an early age; with his mother whom at a young age played piano and sang in the church choir, along with stories of his paternal grandfather (Charles Miles) as a singer in a male quartet. Naturally, music poured over into Drew’s house and his environment, being influenced early on by Soul Music of the 60's, 70's and 80's, Hip-Hop, and Gospel; Drew joined his elementary school band playing trombone at 9. During this time he began to dabble around with the keyboard and piano at a neighbor’s house, but at this stage never had any formal piano lessons. As a teenager, his talents and gifts truly began to flourish

Leopoldo Osio

Jazz Pianist Leopoldo Osio was born in Ciudad Bolivar, Venezuela. He started playing piano at a very early age, inspired by Venezuelan Traditional Music. He credits George Shearing as being the first musician that got him hooked on jazz when he was 14 years old. Around this time, Leo began studying with jazz musician and promoter Ivo Farfan, who introduced him to jazz trumpet player Julio Mendoza who was to become his principal mentor and develop his interest in bebop. Leo immersed himself in the music of Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gilliespie, Chucho Valdes and Paquito de Rivera. At the age of 16, he was invited to perform in the Festival de Jazz en el Orinoco with important Venezuelan musicians like Ivo Farfan, Victor Cuica, Roberto Giron, and later the same year The Jazz Festival El Hatillo with Julio Mendoza Quartet. His interest in music led him to study at several universities in 3 countries to improve his knowledge in different areas of the music, including Jazz and Latin Music at IUDEM-Venezuela, Brazilian Music at Conservatory Souza Lima-Brazil and Newpark Music Centre where he was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Performance (Hons) in 2010
