Carlos Barba

Carlos Barba completed his music degree at the University of Texas at El Paso. He has been an active performer and educator in the El Paso, Las Cruces, and Ciudad Juarez areas for almost a decade. From recital halls to night clubs, Carlos has provided entertainment for a wide variety of audiences. Classical and jazz have been the main focuses of his studies, but he constantly plays other styles such as pop, rock, gospel, funk, country, latin, and electronic music. He has to released three full-length albums.

Ricardo Bacelar

Ricardo Bacelar is a Brazilian composer, pianist, singer, and producer whose work navigates the intersection of contemporary Brazilian music, jazz, and cinematic sound. With a career spanning more than four decades, he has built a multifaceted trajectory that combines artistic creation, music production, and the development of an independent recording infrastructure with international reach.

Bacelar began his musical journey in the Brazilian rock scene, gaining recognition as a founding member of the band Hanoi Hanoi, with whom he recorded albums and performed extensively across Brazil. Over time, his artistic direction evolved toward a broader musical language, incorporating elements of MPB, jazz, and instrumental composition, resulting in a body of work marked by harmonic sophistication and rhythmic diversity.

Joe Block

Born: May 12, 1999

Pianist, composer, and bandleader Joe Block is a dynamic rising talent in the jazz world. He began playing classical piano at the age of two before switching to jazz in middle school. While growing up in Philadelphia, a city with a rich jazz and musical tradition, he was fortunate to learn and study from older musicians on the scene and in jazz education programs at the Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz and Performing Arts and the Kimmel Center. Joe currently resides in New York City where he attends both the Juilliard School (MM ‘22) and Columbia University (BA ‘21) as part of their highly selective and vigorous dual-degree exchange program

Erik Sondhy

Marthen Eugene Mangempis, a man hailing from Manado, a guide fluent in Dutch and Ni Luh Putu Sri Nulatri Sedani, a professional dancer from Bali, on 10 April 1975 awaited the birth of their baby in a small city in Bali named Denpasar. They then named their first child Eurysondhy Andrean John Imanuel Mangempis and Erik grew up as the eldest of 5 siblings. When other children had dreams of becoming a doctor or engineer, Erik Sondhy since young, had already known for sure what he wanted in the future, which was to become a famous musician. He formed these dreams because since young, Erik really admired a band from England, which was The Beatles

David Feldman

Born: December 29, 1977

David Feldman was born in a family of classical and early-music musicians dedicated to baroque and classical music. He started very early his musical studies, playing classical piano at the age of four. At that time, he would drive his piano teacher crazy, because he would never stick to what was written on the music sheet, always preferring to show his personal interpretation of the piece. When at the age of ten he heard “Misterioso” by Thelonious Monk, it became obvious that whatever he was doing had a name: improvisation. Later on David studied with the great Luiz Eça. Lyubomir Denev

Lyubomir Denev is one of the biggest names in contemporary Bulgarian music. He has written music for film and theater, and has made a successful international career as a solo jazz musician, playing at festivals in Paris, Oslo, Budapest, Berlin, among others. Denev is a recipient of numerous awards for his work as a composer – among those are “Sofia 1989”, “ASKEER 2001”, “Crystal Lyre 2006”, “Zlatna Rakla 2006”. The Bulgarian National Television has produced two documentaries about Denev’s works and his music has been performed across Europe and countries, such as Mexico, China, India, Egypt, Japan, Canada, and the United States.

Ramon Alexander

The jazz-pianist and composer Ramon Hector Alexander hails from Mamre. His latest album release – his second solo album – is entitled Echoes from Louwskloof. In one sense, this album is an homage to his musical forefathers; in another, it is an homage to the forefathers of his birthplace. “Louwskloof was a place close to home where a Khoi captain, Klapmuts, and his people roamed when the German missionaries set up shop in Groenekloof [today it’s known as Mamre] at the turn of the 1800s.” This historical titbit reveals an artist who has a special connection to place, and how the past resonates in the present

Matt Piet is an improvising pianist and composer based in Chicago, IL. He is co-leader of the trio Four Letter Words and the "Piet" of the trio Rempis/Piet/Daisy. After his studies in straight-ahead jazz at Berklee College of Music in Boston MA, Piet shifted gears and began playing mostly improvised music. An active participant in Chicago's vibrant jazz and improvised music scene, Piet has recorded in trio, duo, and solo contexts, which can all be found via his website: mattpietmusic.com.
