Vangelis Kordompoulis

Born: February 11, 1948

He was born in 1948 in Patras Greece. He was taught music by Konstantinos Remoundos, Konstantinos Vafiadis (Euphonium - Trombone), Nikolas Amarado (Mandolin), Dimitrios Papadatos (Classic Guitar), Konstantinos Kydoniatis (Piano and Music Theory),Aurel Ströe (Composition), Hal Grossman and Lee Harris and Piano Tuning at the American School of Piano Tuning. He is teaching: Classic Piano, Jazz - Modern Piano and Theory, Harmony, Counterpoint, Fugue, Composing, Pop Song and Jazz Composing, Orchestration, Band and Jazz Arrangement. He has played as: Mandolin-Guitar Euphonium and Trombone player, Soloist Pianist, Jazz Pianist, Show and Recording Studio Pianist, Music Teacher, Pianist, and Conductor in Musical Comedies and Musicals (Chicago, The Woman of the Year, Annie..) in Athens Greece

Paul G. Smyth

Born: June 11, 1976

For the last 20 years, pianist Paul G. Smyth has been carving a unique furrow in Ireland’s cultural landscape. Parallel to his past involvement with The Jimmy Cake (described by the Irish Times as “the most powerful musical force in Ireland”), Smyth has also set himself apart as a singular voice in Europe’s vigorous improvised music scene.

Since touring with Charles Gayle in 1999, he has worked with such luminaries as Derek Bailey, Evan Parker, Peter Brötzmann, Keiji Haino, Barry Guy, Wadada Leo Smith, John Russell, Chris Corsano, Lol Coxhill, Charles Hayward, John Butcher, John Edwards, Alan Wilkinson, Mark Sanders and Damo Suzuki, among many others, been a member of synth trio Boys Of Summer (“the sound of John Carpenter being buried alive” - Le Cool Magazine), a featured composer in the National Concert Hall, written music for theatre, and performed in 18 countries.

Smyth has released critically acclaimed duo albums with Evan Parker, Chris Corsano and John Russell on his label Weekertoft, which he co-founded with Russell in 2016.

Born: April 4, 1961

It started at age 4, seated at the piano. A single note that moved and morphed through the years, becoming Peter’s unique musical language. His organic fusion of qualities—the distinctiveness and improvisation of jazz, the soul of blues, and the compositional technique of Bach, Beethoven, and other classical composers—led to an emergence of new sounds, a new feel, a new purpose. Peter’s broad career in the music industry as composer, pianist, singer- songwriter, and entrepreneur started as a budding teenage jazz musician in Chicago. He studied jazz at the Bloom School of Jazz (Chicago, IL), majored in jazz at Indiana University (Bloomington, IN), and majored in composition and piano at Eastman School of Music (Rochester NY)

Dai Liang

A Bu started to study the classical piano from Professor Zhang Shigu, a Chinese American piano educator, at the age of four, and won awards at several piano contests he participated later. After Zhang Shigu returned to the U.S., Professor Zhang.

Zhiwei from the Central Conservatory of Music took his place and taught A Bu classical piano. In 2009, A Bu was enrolled in the Affiliated Primary School of the Central Conservatory of Music, and had joined the Piano Master summer camp launched in the U.S. ever since then. In June 2012, A Bu was recommended for admission to the Affiliated Middle School of the Central Conservatory of Music for outstanding achievements.

Tom Oren

Matt Robbins

Born: December 22, 1981

Matt Robbins is an accomplished jazz pianist and vocalist who has studied piano with Garry Dial, Jason Moran and John Stetch, and voice with Felicity Graham and Theo Bleckmann. Matt graduated from Manhattan School of Music with a master's degree in jazz piano performance in 2010. Over the years since, he has been active in the NYC area, playing, singing, arranging, and otherwise collaborating with local artists of widely varying styles. Matt is also a songwriter. His song "Shadow of Love" was recorded by Brazillian vocalist Patricia Talem on her album "Olhos", along with an all-star band of Russell Ferrante, Christian McBride, Marco da Costa, and Bob Mintzer. His debut recording "Love in the Active Voice" of his own jazz-inflected art songs was released in 2016.
