Hue Blanes

Born: October, 1984

Born in 1984, Melbourne, Hue grew up in the small Victorian town of Healesville, where he began his musical life playing local fetes, concerts and festivals. He received a scholarship to study at the Victorian College of The Arts Secondary School (VCASS), and graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Music Performance and the prestigious Billy Hyde Music Prize for outstanding achievement. Hue's teachers have included some of Australia's finest musicians - Bob and Steven Sedergreen, Andrea Keller, Tim Stevens, Tony Gould, and most recently with Fred Hersch and Jason Moran.

Israel Tanenbaum

Born: March 7

Pianist, producer, composer and arranger, Israel Tanenbaum has produced over 700 songs and performed in more than 100 recordings of Salsa, Latin Jazz, Folklore and Latin/Tropical Pop.

Some of Israel’s best-known work includes salsa titles like “Oiga Mire Vea” and “Te amo, te extraño” (Orquesta Guayacán), and Latin Jazz compositions “Hacha y Machete” (Alfredo De La Fe) and “Tanenbaum a la Lucca” (Papo Lucca). His work has earned one Platinum and two Gold records.

Israel began his professional life as a teenager, playing clubs in San Juan, Puerto Rico. At 16 he went to New York and a friend invited him to see Machito & the Afro-Cubans at the Roseland Ballroom. After being introduced, Machito invited Israel to sit on stage and witness the awesome big band up close. The experience ignited Israel’s passion for composition.

Warren Galea

Born: April 1, 1991

Warren Galea is a Maltese Jazz Guitarist, Pianist, and Composer whose work blends Modern Jazz language with Classical structures and experimental composition. He has performed across Europe, the United States, and Asia. In May 2019 he released his debut album: The Odyssey, featuring Andy McKee on bass and Adam Nussbaum on drums. Later that year he became the first Maltese artist to perform at the iconic Blue Note Jazz Club in New York City, playing with his trio in the Blue Note Jazz Festival. 

Other international performances have included Nublu 151, ShapeShifter Lab, Rockwood Music Hall, the Bitter End, Williamsburg Music Center (NYC), the Honey Hive Gallery (San Francisco), the Octopus Literary Salon (Oakland), the Jazz Educators Network Conference (JEN) 2019 (Reno, Nevada), DDC, The Water Cube (Beijing), Katara European Jazz Festival (Doha, Qatar), the Malta Jazz Festival, the Dusseldorf Jazz Rally, Europe Day Festival (Vienna), Teatro Adriano (Cagliari, Sardegna) 'Les Sons d' Une Ile’ (Paris).

Tat the Musician

"Tat", Tatsuya is an award winning, accomplished multi-instrumentalist in the America, who is originally from Japan. He plays and teaches piano, keyboard, guitar, bass, percussion, drums, key-drums (the newest drum-tech on keys), and many more instruments. He is also a music theorist throughout the Boston area as well as in Japan, a member of the American Federation of Musicians/Boston Musicians' Association. Being an alumnus of the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Tatsuya is a spectacular drummer and a recipient of the Zildjian awards and several scholarships. Through Yoshinaga Music and XTY Music Lessons, Tatsuya has been able to give back to the community through music

Edgar Van Asselt

Born: August 15, 1970

DIY, on-the-fly and versatility are words that come to mind about pianist, composer, producer and cultural entrepreneur Edgar van Asselt. After completing a bachelor in applied economics he dedicated himself to music. Next to his studies at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague he started gigging, teaching and composing. Later he also started organising his own projects and concerts. Resulting in concert series, tours and a number of well received albums, often in collaboration with other musicians.

As a bandleader and co-leader, pianist, and producer Edgar worked with the likes of David Schnitter, Lucy Woodward, Jorge Vistel, Findley Brothers, Robertinho Silva, Ack van Rooijen, Jorge Rossy and Jeroen Vierdag

Antonio Flinta

Antonio Flinta, pianist, composer and educator born in Chile, as a child lived in Peru, Italy and Spain, and at 14 started to play piano influenced by the musical environment of his mother’s family in Madrid. At 17 he started studying physics at university, but soon after realized that music was his calling.

He studied in Madrid at the Taller de Músicos with Joshua Edelman, and attended masterclasses with Barry Harris, Bob Moses and Chuck Israels, among others. With a homemade piano solo tape recording of  “All Blues” and “My Funny Valentine,” he won a scholarship to the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Mass., where he studied composition and arrangement, improvisation with Ed Tomassi and jazz piano with Ray Santisi. In Rome in 1993, after playing in various bands and in duo with clarinetist Tony Scott, he formed his own trio with Roberto Bucci on bass and Claudio Gioannini on drums, starting a musical relationship and a friendship that lasts until today.

Bryard Huggins

Bryard (bree-yard) Huggins is a composer, record producer, and contemporary jazz piano recording artist from Nashville, TN. He is also founder/CEO of Muse Entertainment, a music production company and indie record label. In addition, he tours with the Empress of Soul Gladys Knight as her featured guest artist. Bryard stumbled upon his God-given musical gift at the age of 4 and composed his first song at the age of 6. A former child prodigy with a gifted ear for music, now 27, he has released 5 studio jazz albums, 1 instrumental gospel album, and various singles. Through his company Muse Entertainment, Bryard composes and produces musical content for diverse clientele nationwide, in the styles of film/TV, commercials, music for podcasts, stage plays, and more

Tyrone Jackson

The name Tyrone Jackson is the quintessential jazz piano player. His boundless creativity coupled with harmonic mastery, utilizes the piano as a blank canvas.  Jackson is nationally recognized and has traveled the world as a solo artist and sideman. 

As a composer, Jackson has composed original music for Pulitizer Prize winning author Natasha Tretheway's book of poems "Native Guard" turned theatrical play, Pearl Clege's play, "Tell Me My Dream", "Ethel" and this year’s Alliance Theater production of “Nick’s Flamingo Grill.” Jackson has recorded 4 Albums—“Dedicated”, “Another Voyage”, “Melody In Nede”, and new release “From The Mind Of.”
