Ian Sinclair

A Saskatchewan born and raised musician, Ian Sinclair is an experienced, creative, and versatile pianist that has led a varied career as a performer and educator. During his recent stay in Dallas from 2004 through 2007, he performed with numerous award-winning jazz groups including the University of North Texas 2 O'Clock Lab Band and the Brian Donohoe Quintet which was named the country's Most Outstanding College Jazz Small Ensemble in 2007 by jazz's most prominent publication, Down Beat Magazine. Ian's own quintet was featured as part of the University of North Texas's 2007 CD, Étranger, which featured the best musicians in its prestigious jazz program

Laurence Hobgood
Laurence Hobgood began formal piano study at age 6 in Dallas, TX where his father was chairman of the SMU theater program. At age 12 he was introduced to Blues music through his family's church. Several years later, after moving to Illinois, he began formal training in Jazz music. He attended the University of Illinois where he played for three years in the "A" jazz ensemble led by John Garvey. During that time his classical study continued with Ian Hobson.
After moving to Chicago in 1988, he established a local presence leading his own quintet and joining forces with some of Chicago's premier players like Ed Peterson, Fareed Haque, and most importantly Paul Werlico. The group Trio New, with Hobgood, Wertico, and bassist Eric Hochberg, played to critical acclaim and established a serious connection with Wertico that spans many projects and ensembles.

Pianist and composer Wolfgang Seligo is very much at home in many divergent musical styles. His original music is influenced by jazz, rock, and modern classical music and driven by a funky and powerful sound from the piano. He brought his work onto the international stage in various formations but also solo. He gave concerts in the Forbidden City of Peking, on the Red Square of Moscow, but also in Morocco, Senegal, Chicago and Washington. Other performances include festivals and concert series in Europe, Asia, Africa and the United States. Yul Anderson
Yul Anderson, the Elusive Multi talented Artist; Pianist, Guitarist and Vocalist, is not content with existing musical categories. Anderson’s music is a musical universe; a mixture of 18th and 19th Century Classical Music rooted in American Black Music creating a Flowing and Rhythmic Solo Piano Improvisation. John Malkovich enjoyed the music so much that he made a personal call to Yul Anderson and asked permission to use his live solo piano version of "All Along The Watchtower" as the main soundtrack in his debut directorial film "The Dancer Upstairs", starring Oscar Winner Javier Bardem. "My meaning is to perform the ultimate piano experience expressed through sounds that carry the listener on a musical journey to a place where they have never been before", Anderson says as he ponders his musical vision.

Christina Blalock
A short biography of CHRISTINA BLALOCK A graduate of Rutgers University, NJ, Christina has a solid command of many piano playing styles and interpretations, from Chopin to Brubeck. Her musical development started very early, and after years of training in the classical piano tradition, she became an Army Band Pianist. She attended the Mannes College of Music. At Rutgers’ Mason Gross School, Christina studied under renowned jazz pianist Kenny Barron. The Kenny Barron Trio selected some of her compositions, released them on CD, and performed them live in NYC and around the world. Christina is both a solo performer and the pianist of the newly-formed Straight Ahead Jazz Quartet
