Brad Kay

Brad Kay, pianist, cornetist, composer and musicologist, has played in and led bands in Los Angeles since 1965, when he began performing at SHAKEY'S PIZZA PARLORS. Music has been his consuming passion since childhood, starting with ragtime, developing into a love for all great American music, especially the hot jazz of the 1920s. He was a sideman in the MYSTIC KNIGHTS OF THE OINGO BOINGO (1974-77); led his own band, THE MAJESTIC DANCE ORCHESTRA (1975-79, 1991-94), which recreated hot orchestral music of the 20s and 30s. In his septet, THE UPTOWN CURMUDGEONS OF SWING (1995-97), he evoked some of the great pianists of the era such as Fats Waller, Duke Ellington and George Gershwin (among many), but was essentially himself in his heatedly optimistic solos. Ariel J Ramos

Composer and Pianist Ariel J. Ramos has been working with independent filmmakers since 2000. He is a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston. Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, Ariel Ramos started his career as a pianist. In 1997 he moved to Boston to study at Berklee College of Music. In 2000 he founded DreamTracks, Music for Film and Multimedia. He is now established in Florida composing music for film, TV and chamber music, arranging from small to large ensembles and performing jazz, latin and chamber music in the area. Katsuko Tanaka

A Japanese native, Katsuko Tanaka moved to New York City in 2008 in order to immerse herself in the culture and traditions of American blues and jazz music. Since relocating Katsuko has been privileged to share the stage with internationally acclaimed jazz musicians, leading bands locally and abroad that have showcased artists like Willie Jones III, Lonnie Plaxico, Gene Jackson, Victor Lewis, Essiet Okon Essiet, and many upcoming young stellar. She had taken classical piano lesson, sight reading, and ear training from the age of three at YAMAHA music school OSAKA. She received a Rotary International Foundation full scholarship to study classical piano at California State University, Long Beach

Danilo Rea

One of Italy’s leading jazz pianists, Danilo Rea received a solid musical training, obtaining his degree from the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome. A member of the acclaimed improvising trios TRICHOTOMY & Berardi/Foran/Karlen he has collaborated with the QLD Symphony Orchestra, Expressions Dance company, international jazz artists Julian Arguelles, Froy Aagre & Pascal Schumacher plus a range of classical groups, Topology, Southern Cross Soloists, Lunaire & Collusion

Luciano Troja

Born: July 6, 1963

Born in Messina, Italy (Sicily), self-taught from the age of 6, he studied for several years with the pianist-composer Salvatore Bonafede, and, in New York for a brief and intensive time with Richie Beirach. In the years he attended several jazz courses and clinics, among the others Siena Jazz; Berklee Clinics in Umbria, Aebersold School in London , and piano courses with Shirley Scott, James Williams and Franco D’Andrea. Luciano performed in several festival and jazz- clubs in Europe and US. He is the pianist of the Mahanada Quartet an original combination of free improvisation and written music

Avzal Ismail

Avzal Ismail has worked with a host of top international names, including acclaimed violinist Regina Carter, Donald Harrison, Carl Andersen, Professor James Houlik, Bhakhithi Khumalo and many more. He also composed and performed the finalé for the opening ceremony of the World Summit for Sustainable Development which was held in Johannesburg. Avzal performs internationally and is currently preparing to relocate to Canada as from 2011 onwards if not sooner. One of South Africa's most prolific pianists, Avzal is someone to look out for in the future as he is certain to make his mark on the scene.
