Alan Jay Palmer

Alan Jay Palmer or BAP ( Bad Alan Palmer) was born in Washington D.C. and attended the Duke Ellington School of the Arts. Alan was exposed to Jazz piano through his first teacher John Malachi and listening to Thelonious Monk , Mingus, and John Coltrane recordings that a neighborhood friend had. At that time, Alan was beginning to play around D.C. with different Go Go bands and developing his Jazz ...chops at Lettumplay w/ Fred Foss, Webster Young and other D.C .Jazz Legends. After high school, Alan attended the famous African American Music Department at The University of Hartford now known as The Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz

Mário Laginha

Born: April 25, 1960

Working as a musician for more than twenty years, Mário Laginha is usually connoted to the jazz world. But, if it’s true that in the beginning he followed a predominantly jazzy path – he was one of the founders of the Sexteto de Jazz de Lisboa (1984), he created the Mário Laginha Decateto (1987) and he leads his own trio, - the musical universe he has constructed with singer Maria João is a tribute to all the music he loves – beginning with jazz, but including Brazilian, Indian and African music, pop, rock and, of course, the classical basis that was present in his academic studies and that would influence his first solo project, inspired by Bach’s music (Songs and Fugues, 2006). Mário Laginha has articulated his strong musical personality with a strong will to share his art with other musicians and creators

Johanna Pitkänen

Born: June 8, 1982

Johanna Pitkänen is a pianist and composer from Helsinki. She has explored the musical globe from Scandinavia to Cuba and from different parts of Africa to Spain. Pitkänen writes music by commission and performs on solo piano and with duos and trios. Her oldest ongoing group is Kokko Quartet, a Finnish jazz group using world music influences in their music. The group has released two albums, their latest release is Orient Express from 2016. Pitkänen also writes music for film. In 2019 she released electronic music together with producer Satu Nieminen Pitkänen graduated from Metropolia University of Applied Sciences with a Bachelor’s degree in Pop and Jazz Music

Kekko Fornarelli

Born: January 10, 1978

Kekko Fornarelli is one of the most widely appreciated young pianists internationally. His unique ways of balancing an endless research with universal usability, and his ability to draw the profanes up to that foreign thing called jazz makes him one of the most eclectic and pervasive artists in the current international music scene. His unique style is characterized by its attempt to create music to observe, more than just to listen to. A way to tell stories, emotions and situations. Numerous are his collaborations with prestigious Italian and international jazz artists : Rosario Giuliani, Flavio Boltro, Michel Benita, Francesco Bearzatti, Luca Bulgarelli, Yuri Goloubev, Benjamin Henocq, Nicolas Folmer, Jerome Regard, Manhu Roche, Andy Gravish, Eric Prost, Marco Tamburini, Jean-Luc Rimey Meille. BIO Kekko Fornarelli was born in Bari, Italy in 1978. He began learning classical piano at the age of three, first through private tuition and later at the Conservatorio Piccinni in Bari. Fornarelli’s love for jazz music began at the age of 18

Bram Weijters

Born: July 15, 1980

Eight years old, Bram started music courses at the music school in his birth town, attending piano and percussion classes. As a teenager he played in several rockbands. After completing secondary education, he was admitted to the Antwerp Conservatory. Amongst his teachers were Erik Vermeulen and Christoph Erbstösser. After graduating for jazz piano in Antwerp he went to the Brussels Conservatory, where he graduated in 2005 for jazzcompostion and arranging. Bram took lessons and attended masterclasses a.o. from Kenny Werner, Anthony Braxton, Gary Peacock, Mark Turner, Dave Liebman, Bill Carrotters, Bert Joris, … Bram participated in a wide range of projects. He's mainly involved in jazz formations but doesn't limit himself to jazz. He performed as well with people from the hip hopscene like as with rockgroups. Currently Bram plays with amongst others: Chad McCullough- Bram Weijters, Koen Nys Quintet, Hamster Axis of the one- click Panther,... He also composes and writes arrangements for some of these bands.

Danny Fox

Pianist Danny Fox was born in New York City where he became immersed in the jazz scene from an early age. In high school, Danny was selected as a Presidential Scholar in the Arts and went on to attend Harvard University during which time he became active in the Boston music scene. He formed the Danny Fox Trio in 2008 as a vehicle for his original compositions and since then the working group has performed steadily around NYC and the US, releasing the critically acclaimed albums The One Constant (Songlines) and Wide Eyed (Hot Cup).

Called a “pianist of diverse accomplishment” (NY Times), Danny has established himself as a versatile musician active in a wide variety of settings, co-founding the New Orleans rock and roll group Tubby, playing around the fertile Brooklyn roots and bluegrass scene, performing on Broadway, and collaborating with the cutting edge video artist Meghan Allynn Johnson

Martyn Croston

Born: August 15, 1981

Martyn Croston is currently a jazz/wedding pianist and a piano/music teacher He has performed in the UK, Canada, Russia, Spain and the US, both as a solo pianist and with numerous ensembles at weddings, parties and other events Martyn has played with some notable musicians, including Toby Smith (Jamiroquai) and Dave Richmond (Manfred Mann). After Martyn completed his Bachelors in Music at the University of Bristol, he moved to Moscow, performing regularly throughout the city as a solo pianist and with numerous ensembles, including a performance with the Ukranian guitarist Roman Miroshnichenko. In 2007, he received a scholarship to study a Masters at Western Michigan University, where he received lessons from Dr Stephen Zegree and Tad Weed. Martyn was the pianist for the vocal jazz group Gold Company, performing at the International Association for Jazz Education in Toronto with Darmon Meader from New York Voices

Alex Minasian

Born: July 11, 1984

Alex Minasian is an American jazz pianist, composer, educator, and impresario based in New York City. He has served as pianist and musical director for iconic jazz vocalists, Little Jimmy Scott and Mark Murphy. Minasian grew up in Hudson, New Hampshire, and began playing the piano at the age of 4. His first professional gigs, at the age of 14, consisted of backing various Doo-Wop groups, such as, the Jive Five. Inspired by pianists Hank Jones and Erroll Garner, Minasian took up studying improvisation with Boston-area guru, Miles Donahue. He then attended New York University, studying with pianists Don Friedman and Jean Michel Pilc

As the son of jazz songbird, Josie Gien and the South Africandrumming legend Bobby Gien, who performed with thefamous Ronnie Scott Trio for half a decade, Reolon’s worldhas always been centered around music. Reolon’s love ofand exposure to jazz throughout his life led him to completehis BMus Degree in Jazz Performance and Compositionstudies at the University of Cape Town (UCT) in 2001, thesame internationally esteemed institution at which he currentlyholds a permanent lecturing post.

Anthony Pocetti

Born: June 3, 1989

nthony Pocetti was born on June 3, 1989. He grew up in Hamilton, New Jersey and graduated Steinert High School in 2007. Anthony graduated from New York University and lives in New York City with a Bachelor of Music degree. Anthony was a jazz studies (piano performance) major and a computer applications minor. Anthony is currently enrolled at in Manhattan School of Music's master's program for jazz piano performance. He studies with Ted Rosenthal. Anthony has been playing piano since he was five years old. He learned to play through the Suzuki method, taking lessons at Westminister Conservatory Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey. In high school, Anthony switched to studying jazz with pianist/composer Jim Ridl
