John Walter writes music. Strong melodies. Jazz and worldmusic influences. 2009 saw the launch of his first solo albumof all original material. This has now been followed by a trioproject.

Bio: Born in Bude in North Cornwall in 1954 John went toLondon in the 70's and took advantage of some fantastic Jazzcourses at Goldsmiths College. The likes of Stan Tracey, DonRendell, Brian Priestley, John Taylor and Howard Riley all ranadult education classes on site.

After immersion in the London Jazz scene John moved toBristol in the early eighties and made a name for himself as acomposer and bandleader. Working in anything from duo's tononets he played alongside Andy Sheppard, GerryUnderwood, Paul Dunmall and a host of local musicians. Healso ran regular Jazz and Improvisation workshopscollaborating with the likes of Keith Tippett, Ian Menter andWill Menter.

Aman Mahajan

Born: July 24, 1986

Indian pianist-composer Aman Mahajan works with improvised music as a medium of exploration, expression and exchange. His work is often reflective, influenced by a diversity of traditional and contemporary forms from around the world, and inspired by a search for unity and connection. His 2019 solo piano album REFUGE explores ideas of home, paying homage to inward journeys. Mahajan has performed widely on the Indian music circuit, and internationally at venues including Moods (Zürich, 2020), Murszene (Graz, 2019), Jazzwerkstatt (Graz, 2018), Jazz Utsav (New Delhi, 2017), EUROPAFest (Sinaia, 2015), Festival of Sacred Music (Thiruvaiyaru, 2015), Goa Jazz Festival (Goa, 2014), IndiEarth XChange (Madras, 2014), Kasauli Rhythm & Blues Festival (Kasauli, 2014), goMAD Festival (Ooty, 2013) and MAD Festival (Ooty, 2012). Presently based in Bangalore, he is involved with his solo piano project Refuge, and collaborations including Tinctures with Berlin-based guitarist Nishad Pandey, a duo with vocalist Radha Thomas, and cross-cultural trio Mystik Vibes with percussionist Muthu Kumar and flautist Amith Nadig. Focussed on the development of the contemporary improvised music in India, Mahajan also teaches privately from his piano studio in Bangalore, and has been a returning faculty member at the Global Music Institute, Delhi.

Born: August 1, 1961

Cornwall based and internationally acclaimed pianist and composer Simon Latarche has been providing quality music for events and festivals throughout the last twenty years. Classically trained, he is equally at home in Jazz, Pop or Classical genres and able to provide a range of ensembles from solo piano, through duos, trios and on to larger jazz line ups. Original compositions ‘Cornish Preludes’ have been broadcast on radio worldwide. The Simon Latarche quartet performs at jazz clubs throughout the South West and Simon is also known for his versatility in providing personal music packages for the perfect wedding, private or corporate event.

Jon Raney

Born: August 22, 1961

Jon Raney was born in New York City in 1961. Son of guitar legend Jimmy Raney and brother of Steeplechase recording artist Doug Raney. Studied jazz piano with Kenny Barron, Cedar Walton and Michael Wolff, arranging and counterpoint with arranger Arthur Harris. Jon Raney worked several years for the 92nd Street Y School of the Arts Music dept and is on staff at The New School for Jazz in addition to teaching jazz piano and compostion privately. He received his B.A. in Music from Hunter College in 1985. Jon has performed in much talked about engagements with brother and guitarist, Doug Raney at Birdland and Zinc Bar

Walter Spicy Bland

Born: February 18, 1951

Walter Bland was born into a family of artists in Springfield, Massachusetts. Bland studied at Emerson College, Berklee College of Music and the Springfield Conservatory of Music in Massachusetts. While studying at Berklee College, Bland was introduced to the music of many cultures, and met musicians from around the world, which reflects in his work today. It was during his time at Emerson that Bland was introduced to Steve Hemingway, the first black writer in television history, for CBS Playhouse 90. Bland composed the music for producer Hemingway’s show “Brother love,” which was the first African American sitcom produced by African Americans in the history of television

Erik Lindeborg

Born: February 8, 1984

Playing piano since childhood, jazz since high-school. Has a master's degree in jazz piano from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm Sweden. Has so far released two trio albums on Stockholm Jazz Records, and received several Swedish and international jazz rewards.

Matthew Sheens

Born: December 5, 1986

Born in Bowral, Australia, and raised in Sydney, Melbourne, Woolongong and Adelaide, Matthew became interested in jazz performance and composition towards the end of high school and in 2003 (11th grade) received the Jack De Vos Scholarship for single studies at the Elder Conservatorium. In 2004 Matthew toured with his quartet across the USA performing his original music. Upon Graduating at the University of Adelaide in 2008 with first class honors, he had received the Most Outstanding Pianist award in his 2nd year, Most Outstanding Undergraduate in 3rd year, Most Outstanding Honors Graduate in final year and was the only music student (from all disciplines in the Elder Conservatorium) to be awarded the Adelaide University Medal for Academic Excellence (humanities category)
