Frijo Francis

Bangalore based, jazz pianist Frijo Francis (1986) has been playing piano for almost 12 years. He underwent rigorous classical music training under the tutelage of Fr Thomas Chakkalamattath for almost 7 years and he now holds an ATCL degree from Trinity College of Music, London. His avid interest in improvisation led him to discover jazz and other forms of improvised music and has been pursuing it for the last 4-5 years; currently working as an educator, performer and active composer and arranger for many projects. Frijo has keen interest in funk and progressive instrumental music with the essence of Indian Classical and contemporary style

Igor Gehenot

The pianist Igor Gehenot started classical piano studies from an early age. At 13 he enters the jazz section of the royal academy of Liège and at 19 the conservatory of Maastricht. He enters the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in 2009 for two years, where he studies among others with Eric Legnini, and starts his own trio with Sam Gerstmans on double bass and drummer Teun Verbruggen. The trio led by Igor Gehenot won the Sabam’s youth jazz award in 2011. The recognition was justified. The pianist, born in 1989, has progressively established himself as a major talent on the Belgian and European scenes. After recording the first album «Road Story» (Igloo New talents, 2012), Igor toured extensively in Belgium and elsewhere (Jazz A Vienne, Mexico Festival…). In 2014, he presented the new album «Motion», still featuring Verbruggen on drums but with Philippe Aerts as the new partner on double bass

Barbara Higbie

A Grammy-nominated, Bammy award winning composer, pianist singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Barbara has performed on more than 65 albums, including Carlos Santana’s 2007 release. She has 11 recordings to her credit as well as contributions to 10 compilations that have sold in the millions. As a cofounder, with Darol Anger, of the acoustic super group, "Montreux", she recorded “ Live at the Montreux Jazz Festival” for Windham Hill Records in 1984, a landmark genre defining album. She continued to tour world-wide with Montreux, until leaving to pursue a solo career. Her 2 CD's with singer-songwriter Teresa Trull on Olivia/Second Wave and Slowbaby Records have won critical acclaim and a large nationwide following. As a solo artist, Barbara’s first solo CD “Signs of Life” was named a Washington Post “Top Ten of the Year”

Giovanni Guidi

Born in Foligno 1985, meets Enrico Rava during a Workshop in Siena. Rava notices his talent and decides to include him in “Rava Under 21” project, that would become “Rava New Generation” after a little time. With this group Guidi will record two CDs , in 2006 and in 2010, for “ESPRESSO” magazine. At the moment, beyond the partnership with Gianluca Petrella and the long time collaboration with Enrico Rava (PM Jazz Lab – Tribe), his own personal trio with Luca Aquino and Michele Rabbia “Thanks For The Fire”, the duo “Netsuke” with Daniele Di Bonaventura (bandoneon), Guidi is always leader of his own groups as his new quartet with the trumpet player Mirco Rubegni, the bassist Joe Rehmer and the drummer Fabrizio Sferra. He took part to a very large number of important jazz festivals all around the world

Danny Sinoff

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Danny Sinoff began private classical piano lessons at the young age of four years old. When he was eleven, he moved with his family to Naples, FL, and continued his classical studies, going on to win local and regional piano competitions and later getting his first gig at the age of 13.

When he was 14, his father gave him a Harry Connick Jr. CD along with a Bobby Darin compilation and Danny fell instantly in love with the power of a swinging Big Band and the singing and interpretation of the Great American Songbook, later discovering bebop and modern jazz. Soon after, he realized that being a musician was what he wanted to do for the rest of his life.

Jacob Karlzon

Swedish jazz pianist and composer Jacob Karlzon has been compared to luminaries such as Keith Jarrett,Bill Evans, and Sweden’s own legendary Jan Johansson. Karlzon’s playing style oozes technical brilliance, rhythmic and harmonic complexity with a perfect feeling for form. Karlzon describes what drives him:

“We are a modern people with a long history, and it is precisely this which I want to reflect in my music. I am fascinated with the possibilities of new technologies but I also need warmth and a connection with the earth in order to feel happy.”

For a piano virtuoso, he likes to add edge; metal and electro all have their place in his music as well as folk songs from his Swedish homeland

Billy Marcus

Billy Marcus, who now lives in St. Petersburg, FL is the son of the great “stride” pianist, Marie Marcus. Billy began his professional career in 1968 in the Boston/Cape Cod area where he worked with the iconic cornetist Bobby Hackett. In 1974, Marcus moved to Miami where he formed his own quartets and quintets. He did regularly-scheduled live radio broadcasts on television and performed at all of Miami and South Florida’s major festivals. In 1982, Marcus was named Miami’s Best Musician by Miami/South Florida Magazine. Recently, Marcus was inducted into the South Florida Music Hall of Fame. Marcus has played “residency” engagements in New York, Boston, France, Switzerland, and recently at the Ritz-Carlton in Shanghai, China and 18 months at the Grand Hyatt in Dubai U.A.E

Gabriel Palatchi was in born August 3, 1982 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At the age of 8, he started his first piano lessons. He then went on to study classical music at the conservatory Manuel de Falla school in Argentina. His studies led him to a Musical Production degree from the ORT High School in Argentina. He further expanded on his studies with a degree in music from the Berklee international School. During this time he studied under many great maestros of Blues, Tango, Jazz and Latin Jazz such as Alvaro Torres, Ricardo Nole and Ernesto Jodos. After graduation, he packed up his piano and started to travel to expand on his musical studies and experiences

NoName Trio

NoName Trio fuses a concoction of jazz, traditional Iranian music and other influences to produce new compositions and fresh takes on classic jazz covers. The Trio was formed in 2009 out of a friendship between Ceri Evans, MOBO Award-winning jazz pianist, Saleh Zaeri, bassist, and Ali Nourbakhsh on an array of Iranian, Latin American and Africa percussion. The three musicians come from very different musical backgrounds covering everything from acid jazz and funk, to heavy metal, Cuban and traditional Iranian music, and it is the fusion of these sounds that defines NoName's debut album, Nothingness. Nothingness interweaves old and new compositions, adding new flavour to old favourites with explorations in rhythm and improvised melodies, and creating new work from the heart of their shared love for experimentations with fusion jazz music

Kayo Hiraki

Kayo Hiraki is one of the few Japanese jazz musicians established on New York City's jazz scene, where she plays with some of the best musicians in the world. After playing a session with her, the legendary bassist Ron Carter said: "Rarely have I heard a musician as gifted as Ms. Hiraki. To hear her play is to experience the joy of her creative ability and the depth of her experience as a talented performer." A child prodigy, Kayo attended Kunitachi Music College and won recognition in Japan as a composer, arranger and performer before taking on the Big Apple. She has released 6 CDs representing her unique interpretation of jazz standards and original compositions.
