Todd Hunter

From San Diego to Greenwich Village to around the world, Todd Hunter has delighted audiences and won the regard of his fellow musicians. He grew up in a musical household with his first and strongest influence - his father, Bill, whose jazz piano skills propelled him through dental school and who continued performing throughout his adult life. Midway through San Diego State University, Hunter took off for New York and immersed himself in that city's jazz scene. There, he continued to educate his ears and hone his technique in the company of Ahmad Jamal, Joe Henderson, Tommy Flanagan and Mel Lewis among others

Christopher Bakriges

Born: July 7, 1958

Christopher Bakriges was born in Detroit in 1958 and grew up near the original Motown Studios. He soon gave up his classical repertoire for lessons with Earl Van Dyke, Hitsville USA’s heralded sideman. “I learned how to approach playing in the Detroit Style of jazz piano, imitating Barry Harris, Tommy Flanagan, Hank Jones, Sir Roland Hanna, Kirk Lightsey, and trying to phrase on the piano like Yusef Lateef does on his horn…and that kind of improvisation was a gradual process of teaching to be myself.” Chris began training with the Detroit Artist Collective and Temptation’s saxophonist Kusuku Mafie (Norris Patterson) which ultimately led to playing his own music with Jaribu Shahid and Tanni Tabbal. After getting degrees from the University of Detroit, Chris had an opportunity to teach and play in the Republic of China where he developed a keen interest in the music of other cultures

Victor Janusz

Born: July 27, 1959

VICTOR JANUSZ— Popular Seattle-based Singer-Pianist has worked regularly at Saltys On Alki (14 Years, Resident "Weekend Brunch Pianist") Columbia Tower Club, Canlis, and Aqua/El Gaucho, to name a few. His one-man show about a 'life at the keys' titled "HANDS SOLO: Pianoman" (directed by Lori Larsen) debuted at NYC's the Duplex and sold out its two-week engagement at ACT Theatre. John Toomey

Professor John Toomey has been recognized for excellence in teaching several times, including his designation as University Professor for Excellence in Teaching, an honorary title awarded to less then 2 percent of the faculty at the university. Other honors include TELETECHNET Professor of the Year, and winner of the prestigious SCHEV Award for Excellence in Teaching. In 1991, Professor Toomey was designated a cultural specialist in Jazz by the United States Information Agency, and was sent to Botswana, Africa in this capacity to both teach and perform.In the area of research, Professor Toomey serves as both director and performer for the Attucks Jazz Series under the umbrella of the Virginia Arts Festival, performs often on the Diehn Concert Series with various jazz artists, and served as performer and Music Director for Havana Nights, a state of the art jazz club in the Tidewater region

Curtis S.D. Macdonald

Curtis Stuart Dalton Macdonald (born Febuary 20, 1962) is a new age, jazz and contemporary instrumental keyboardist, composer, arranger and producer. The music Curtis Macdonald creates evokes emotional and passionate feelings. His soulful contemporary weaving of jazz and new age music is stylized with an effervescent and transparent wash of modern electronica that becomes the foundation for his memorable acoustic piano melodies and lyrical improvisations that are heartfelt and reflective with a dash of cool. During the late 1990s and early 2000s, Curtis Macdonald played a role in turning contemporary instrumental and new age more mainstream. When he was signed by the independent music label Eversound in 2002, his signature style of radio friendly smooth new age solidified into a sound appreciated all over the world

Tomer Bar

Born: October 10, 1994

Pianist/composer Tomer Bar was born in Israel on October10th 1994. At three years old, he started to play the drums inhis father's recording studio. He started playing pop songs atage seven and at eight he started playing the piano. Tomermet Ittai Rosenbaom, (a well known pianist and piano andmusic teacher), which paved the way towards Jazz music.

Since then, he has been performing and writing music, provingthat the soul is deep within us and the human experience ispart of all of us even at early age. Tomer is a pianist, acomposer and at his age already a hopeless romantic,affected by films and Hebrew poetry.

David Austin Grey

Born: June 21, 1983

David Austin Grey is a UK based pianist, composer and educator. Having studied music at The University of Birmingham and Birmingham Conservatoire David had the opportunity to study which such musicians as Hans Koller, Liam Noble & Mike Williams. Currently he is working with his own band [Greyish Quartet] and freelancing throughout the UK. Over the last few years David has worked with a number of well respected musicians including Soweto Kinch, Martin Speake, Gemma Weekes, Chima Anya, Patsy Fuller , Musa Okwonga and New York based artists ‘ iLLspoKinN‘ and ‘Why G?’. He also has a strong desire to continue to collaborate with a wide variety of artists from around the globe

Hiroe Sekine

A talented musician, a gifted jazz pianist, composer, and arranger Hiroe Sekine presents jazz standards and her compositions using her very original voices and colors—modern and fresh, yet classic. She has been writing for and performing in numerous concerts and other events for nearly 20 years both in Japan and the U.S. Being a dedicated and truly professional musician, her energy and stage presence at her live concerts have proved magnetic to many audiences. A native of Japan, Hiroe started playing at the age of four, imitating her mother playing Japanese folk songs on a pedal organ. Eventually changing to piano a year later, she began learning classical piano but simply reading music and basically playing what other people wrote was not for her
