Rick Hannah, jazz guitarist, was born in Philadelphia, USA, and raised in Baltimore. He started playing guitar at 12 years of age, playing rock and other pop music of the day. By the age of 19 he became exposed to jazz and funk and for the next 15 years played a combination of Jazz, Funk and Blues usually in a fusion format. He moved to Los Angeles in 1976, where he tried to adapt to the musical culture, playing fusion music with such notables as Alphonse Mouzon, Bunny Brunel and Brian Auger. Searching for a deeper understanding of jazz music, Rick turned his attention to the roots of American Classic Jazz and began studying and playing that music exclusively

A successful session man, songwriter, bandleader, and producer, Mtume bowed out of the music business in the mid-'80s, when he felt the quality and history of R&B was slipping away, only to return triumphantly to lend his stellar ear and deep knowledge of black music to neo-R&B acts like Mary J. Doug Hirlinger
Doug Hirlinger is a drummer, vibraphonist, electronic musician, and composer raised in St. Louis and living in Philadelphia. He has toured throughout the United States and Europe and performed in such venues as Blue Note (NY), Birdland, The Iridium, and 55 Bar. He attended the University of North Texas and graduated from Manhattan School of Music. Over the last 28 years Doug has been fortunate to have played with many world renowned musicians. The list includes: Peter Bernstein, Stanley Jordan, Seamus Blake, Ralph Bowen, Joel Frahm, Rudresh Mahanathapa, Matt Mitchell, Jason Moran, Luis Perdomo, Jacob Sacks, Jamaaladeen Tacuma, The Philadelphia Orchestra and many more. Upon moving to Philadelphia the first of two times in 2001, Doug spent much of his time at the famed and beloved Ortlieb’s Jazzhaus where he worked with pianist Sid Simmons and others. A trio he co-led with Matt Michell and Tarus Mateen was a crowd favorite there as was Neil Podgurski’s New Fire, of which he was a member.

Tony Williams - Saxophone

Tony Williams is a legendary alto saxophonist who truly represents "The Sound Of Philadelphia". Born and raised as a child in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Tony soon made it up north where he grew up outside of Philadelphia in Crestmont, Pennsylvania. He grew up playing the horn as a youngster and soon found his love with the music. He played in school bands in high school (Abington High School) and later went to college at Tennessee A & I (presently known as Tennessee State University) and played with their band. He transfered to Central State University in Ohio and hooked up with music opportunities there.

Never in her wildest dreams would she be singing professionally, but, a supportive professor got her a gig and the singing bug hit. Kelly uses her voice like an instrumentalist creating unique vocal and rhythmic textures in a wide range of styles from Be Bop to R & B. She gives uncompromising attention to the meaning and emotion of a song never playing it safe and letting the music take her where it needs to go.
