Frank Rein

Frank Rein is a trombonist, multi-instrumentalist, composer/arranger, and educator living and working in Philadelphia. Originally from Princeton, New Jersey, Frank studied bass and tenor trombones at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where he began his career as a freelance musician. In his playing and writing, Frank creates performances with a strong sense of purpose and inevitability, two things that he strives to accomplish by approaching music with practiced mindfulness. That approach is not constrained to any one form or style of sound, and has led him to collaborate with artists in many genres. Frank is an active member of the large jazz ensemble Abstract Truth, the Balkan brass-inspired West Philadelphia Orchestra, the Neo-Soul collective Ode to Omni, the pop-reggae band Kings & Comrades, and the singer-songwriter Chris Paterno Band

Ted Schneider
Born:
Born in the western suburbs of Philadelphia, Ted Schneider has been an aspiring figure in the area since his formative years of study. Since receiving his high school diploma in 2006 from Haverford Senior High School, Ted went on to study undergraduate jazz performance at William Paterson University. While in attendance, he learned many valuable techniques of practice that set a framework for future projects and artistic endeavors. After a brief hiatus from schooling, he attended Temple University for a year, studying private saxophone, with various ensemble instruction. Subsequently, Ted has self-produced albums under his own name and played in a number of bands incorporating a variety styles and genres including Jazz, Funk, Free Jazz, and experimental music.

The Space Whale Orchestra is an improvisational chamber music ensemble sown and
grown in Philadelphia, PA.
Drawn together over a love of collective improvisation and sonic experimentation, the
group continues to explore the borders of music and the meaning of freedom, always
striving to keep their sound new and evolving.
Current core members include Erica Corbo: piano;Steve Davit: saxes; Connor Przybyszewski: trombone; Mick Ricereto: Clarinets.

Max is a pianist, keyboardist, composer, and educator with experience in a wide breadth of musical styles, specializing in jazz. Born and raised in Philadelphia, he was surrounded by music from an early age, studying everything from percussion to cello and voice but ultimately focusing on the piano. In high school he had the great opportunity to study under artists such as trumpeter Terence Blanchard, bassist Christian McBride and saxophonist Odean Pope as well as the chance to perform at the legendary Academy of Music with Paul Simon. In 2017, Max began touring internationally with the grammy- nominated soul group, The Stylistics

A current student at Temple University ATM with a major in Communications and pushing for a double major in Jazz Performance. A member of Carl and the Hamiltones. I play any type of jazz thrown my way, whether it be swing, blues, rock, modern, et cetera. Although I have a lot to learn, I have experienced a lot so far, and am willing to learn as much as i can so that I can expand my knowledge of Jazz, and gig out as much as possible. I try my best to attend as many jam sessions as I possibly can, and sit in places as much as possible.
