Peck Allmond

Trumpeter, multi-instrumentalist and composer Peck Allmond has lived in Brooklyn, New York since 1993.

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, he was a product of Phil Hardymon's Berkeley High School jazz program - that also produced such luminaries as Benny Green and Joshua Redman. As a young player, Peck was mentored and hired by many SF jazz greats: Eddie Marshall, Mark Levine, Ed Kelly, John Coppola, Vince Wallace, Smiley Winters, Donald Bailey, Bud Spangler, Faye Carol, and Chuck Clark. Working with these masters was a rich jazz education.

At New England Conservatory he studied classical trumpet with Robert Nagel, and jazz with Fred Hersh, John McNeil, and Roswell Rudd. He has also studied with Charlie Haden, Dave Holland, and Steve Coleman. He has a BA in Music from UC Santa Cruz.
