Michael Hudson-Casanova

Originally from Metro-Detroit, Michigan, Michael Hudson-Casanova grew up studying with some of the most in- demand performers in the Detroit area. He holds degrees from Western Michigan University and Temple University in jazz studies and music education. He has lived in Philadelphia, PA since 2017 and is a part of the jazz and creative music scenes of the tri-state area. MHC has had the pleasure of studying saxophone and composition with Dick Oatts, Andrew Rathbun, Ben Schachter, Edward Simon, David Binney and Norman David. MHC’s performance resume shows his experience in small and large jazz ensembles, theatre productions, symphonic wind ensembles and commercial music settings

Luca Kézdy

Luca Kézdy was born in Győr, northwest Hungary, where she started her classical violin studies at the age of six. Later she studied aesthetics and philpsophy at the ELTE University’s liberal arts department. She placed in the finals in the first national Jazz Violin Competition held by the Hungarian Radio in 2006, where she won the Audience Prize. She has been playing with her band Santa Diver (violin-bass-drums) since 2006, and played at the most respected festivals and jazz clubs in Hungary, at many venues around Europe, and at the Chelsea Music Festival in New York. She is in more genres like jazz, free improvisation, pop and fusion

Ultrafaux

The Baltimore-based Ultrafaux Ensemble performs original Gypsy Jazz-inspired music with elements of swing, funk, blues, Brazilian choro, and French musette. Lead guitarist and composer Michael Joseph Harris is one of the most prolific writers in this style rooted in the technique of legendary guitarist Django Reinhardt. Harris and 2nd guitarist Sami Arefin trade dazzling leads and harmonize together on rich gypsy-inspired melodies along with a rotating cast of sidemen including Dallas Vietty - accordion, Jason Anick - violin, Evan Price - violin, Aaron Malone - violin, Giacomo Smith - clarinet, Connor Stewart -clarinet, Jonathan Greene - clarinet and many more

Charlie Porter

Internationally acclaimed and Grammy Award-winning trumpeter and composer Charlie Porter first cut his teeth on the New York jazz scene in the late ’90s, while simultaneously studying classical trumpet performance at The Juilliard School under the tutelage of famed trumpeter and composer Wynton Marsalis. Though he has a strong penchant for improvised music, Charlie has since delved into many projects from jazz and classical to Arabic, Indian, African, Australian Aboriginal and Korean music, seeking to find common ground among all "good music" and avoiding the pigeonholing of genre labels. Though he has recorded many albums as a side musician, Porter has two recent albums as a leader that have been garnering high praise

Yuko Mabuchi

Yuko Mabuchi started playing classical piano at age 4, in her hometown of Fukui, Japan. As a teenager she was fascinated by American R&B, Hip-Hop and Blues. After hearing the music of some of the Jazz greats, she fell in love with Jazz and after high school began her study jazz piano. She was soon performing locally as a soloist, and as a member of a local jazz trio. In 2010, Yuko arrived in Los Angeles to further her studies and had the opportunity to perform at some of LAs top venues. Yuko has released three CDs: “Waves” (Vista Records, 2011) “My Life” (Vista Records, 2014) collections of original compositions

Live People Ensemble

Live People Ensemble is a Moscow-based band that was founded in 2009 by Russian pianist and composer Natalya Skvortsova. They play original music that feels stylistically close to contemporary European jazz, while also incorporating influences from the band members’ personal and cultural backgrounds. The musicians use various elements of jazz and art music tradition, folk and world music, and contemporary rhythmic and harmonic-rhythmic structures to convey emotion and live energy in their music. Live People Ensemble performs both original music written by bandleader Natalya Skvortsova and the other band members, and original arrangements of popular jazz pieces

Shimpei Ogawa

Born in Okazaki, Aichi, Japan in 1994, Shimpei started playing electric bass at the age of 13. He would quickly switch to an upright bass after participating in a local jazz big band workshop and falling in love with the art of jazz. He started taking lessons from Tsuyoshi Shimada and played in the Okazaki Junior Jazz Orchestra: “Beans” where he would learn the styles of Count Basie and other legendary musicians from the “swing era”.  Shimpei moved to Tokyo in 2012 and started playing in local venues while studying jazz and classical bass with Osamu Koichi and Yasuyuki Se respectively

Michael Joseph Harris

In 2012, after years of performing mostly Brazilian and Latin influenced original music, guitarist Michael Joseph Harris began studying and playing the music of legendary guitarist Django Reinhardt which led to the creation of The Hot Club of Baltimore later that same year. Harris then formed the band Ultrafaux in 2014 to perform his original Gypsy Jazz compositions. In 2015, Harris founded and remained Artistic Director for Charm City Django Jazz Fest which is the only annual Jazz festival in Baltimore, Maryland. Michael was named one of the top ten musicians by Baltimore Style Magazine and he was featured on a full spread article in The Baltimore Sun Weekend Section as well as Baltimore Magazine

Paul Unger

Paul Unger is currently the Assistant Principal Bass of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra. An accomplished bassist and composer, Mr. Unger’s versatile abilities have allowed him to appear as a featured soloist with the Fort Worth/ Dallas Ballet, the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and the Mimir Chamber Music Festival. His diverse abilities have also allowed him to perform and/or record with such diverse artists as Elle King, Cheryl Bentyne, Byron Stripling, Bobby Shew, Bob Newhart, Bernadette Peters, Jay Clayton, Peggy Stern, Ricki Derek, Montango, Andrea Bocelli and The Who. Paul was instructor of Double Bass at TCU from 2005-2007 and is currently performs with internationally recognized singer, Suzi Stern and guitarist Tom Reynolds

Sarah Jerrom

Sarah Jerrom is a vocalist, composer and arranger specializing in jazz and creative music who takes her inspiration from lyric-driven melodies, genre-defying instrumentation and experimental soundscapes. “The Yeats Project” (2017), her first all-original album, features W.B. Yeats’s poetry set to music and orchestrated for a nine-piece chamber jazz ensemble, achieved critical praise and international airplay. Sarah’s debut album, “Illuminations” (2007), encompassing original compositions, jazz-inspired arrangements of contemporary songs and traditional jazz standards, has also received widespread media attention and international radio airplay
