Olcay Saral

Born: July 17, 1982

Olcay Saral Composer/Pianist Olcay Saral unifies sounds of Anatolian and Turkish music with contemporary musical forms and interprets the stories of the Turkish region with an unique style and technique. Combining the melodic, rhythmic richness of the region with his works in jazz and classical genres, which have been his focus since his conservatoire years, Saral uses makam (classical Turkish music; a concept of melodic creation that determines tonal relations) and modal forms in his music. He combines electronic sounds and Anatolian instruments along with piano and offers a musical journey during his performance
