A Resident Artist at New York's legendary Birdland Jazz Club, she launched her new CD with Eric Comstock, PAINTING THE TOWN, to a sold-out crowd in March & returned by popular demand in May & November. The new CD features Sean Smith (b), Vito Lesczak (dr), and the legendary Houston Person (ts), and the ensemble brings an intimacy and immediacy to their far-ranging set. With tunes from Joni Mitchell to Billy Strayhorn, from Paul Simon to Cole Porter, this is an American Songbook that resonates fully in the 21st century. "Perfectly executed. PAINTING THE TOWN is a testament to great tunes, impeccable musicality, and vocal prowess," writes Marilyn Lester in The New York City Jazz Record. David Hajdu, music critic for The Nation adds, "Watercolors, bold strokes, and layers of impasto in song -- Barbara Fasano and Eric Comstock paint the town as only they can, with deep and impeccable artistry."
Barbara's previous solo CD BUSY BEING FREE (MAC Award ~ Major Recording of the Year) was released to critical acclaim ("My favorite new vocal album" -- Will Friedwald, Wall Street Journal).

Her performances and recordings have won her seven MAC awards, three New York Bistro awards, and a New York Nightlife award. Her last CDs, "Busy Being Free" and "Written In The Stars" both won MAC Awards for Record of the Year.
