Music is simply the medium… the art belongs to us all as we share our energies and explore our individual gifts to bring music to life." Born in Wadesboro, North Carolina on May 26, 1969 to Alonzo W. Dunlap, Jr. (Gospel recording artist) and Milveta Dunlap (visual artist and educator), Monzell first started playing saxophone at age 11 and from there developed his skills on the drums
