Shawn Mativetsky
Dynamic performer Shawn Mativetsky is considered one of Canada's leading ambassadors of the tabla, and is a pioneer in bridging the worlds of Western and Indian classical music. Acclaimed as an exceptional soloist and a leading disciple of the renowned Pandit Sharda Sahai, Shawn Mativetsky is highly sought-after as both performer and educator, and is active in the promotion of the tabla and North Indian classical music through lectures, workshops, and performances across Canada and internationally. Based in Montreal, Shawn teaches tabla and percussion at McGill University. His solo tabla album, Rivers, is rooted in the rich traditions of the Benares style of tabla playing, and his new project, Temporal Waves, brings the tabla into electronic music territory. His recent work involves explorations with tabla, effects pedals, and synthesizers, along with the use of magnetic tape recording and manipulation. He has also published a book, Rudimentaal, featuring compositions for snare drum, inspired by the tabla drumming of North India.

Ruth Saphir
A native Montrealer, Ruth Saphir loves the vibe of the city and has been committed to supporting its culture through performance and through the community service of music therapy and sound healing.
Classically trained, Ruth is a flautist, singer and composer. She is an eclectic artist who has recorded five albums to date. Her most current album release ‘Accolades of Time’, is a collection of original jazz songs on the Orchard of Pomegranates record label. She has also recorded two contemporary-folk albums - ‘The Little Things’ & ‘Fire and Roses’; a new age recording - ‘Genesis’; as well as a children’s music album - ‘Ruth Saphir For Kids’. Ruth’s experience as a music therapist and sound healer over the last 25 years has informed and broadened her scope in the uses of music and its profound effects. Nicolas Dupuis is never far from home. As Anomalie – the shape-shifting, electronic-leaning contemporary jazz production project he unveiled in 2016 – the Montréal born & based artist has carved out his own niche in the music industry. He combines his world-class talents as a composer, producer, and classically and jazz-trained keyboardist with an innovative electronic approach, drawing a great deal of inspiration from his upbringing in the Canadian metropolis.
Anomalie has channeled his musical upbringing (his mother, a piano teacher; his father, a host on Radio-Canada), formal schooling, and stage-seasoned chops into an impressive body of recorded music. His catalog features two companion EPs - ‘Métropole’ and ‘Métropole II’, a collaboration with prominent funk group Chromeo on ‘Bend the Rules’, and his long-form debut, ‘Galerie’. Most recently, in December 2023, Anomalie released an EP of Holiday covers, infusing the classic jazzy, piano-driven sound typical of Christmas music with electronica & hip-hop leaning beats.

Last Out Ark is a genre blending instrumental music project based in Vancouver (xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and səlilwətaɬ lands) and Montréal (Tiohtià:ke), Canada. Its members can be found performing regularly in the Montréal, Calgary, and Vancouver music scenes and have variously attended the Banff Centre for the Arts, received nominations for the Western Canadian Music Awards, and toured across Canada, USA and Europe.
Following up on their 2017 debut LP “Wake”, which featured lush textures and warm analog sounds, Last Ark Out’s upcoming video album project entitled “Lift” is a 7 song LP and video album featuring music written with a host of incredible guest artists in mind
