Alberto Poggio

Born:

Musician for passion, with experiences in various musical genres and theatrical collaborations.
Often, I think it happens to everyone, a certain music is inextricably linked to an instant of life or an emotion, if you think back to that instant the song comes to mind, and when you listen to the song you relive those same emotions.
I believe that my need to compose comes from here, when I experience something peculiar, which is good, bad, more or less important for any reason, and then I sit at the piano to improvise a bit, a music comes out, linked to that memory, and the desire to share it.

Since landing on an abandoned planet Earth in January 2021, the Intergalactic Brasstronauts have been studying the strange conical, mechanical and electronic instruments left behind by the enigmatic human race. The Weekly Reeders

The Weekly Reeders is an "orphan instrument" band that was conceived from a chance remark made in 2013 by Carlos Cuevas, old UNT buddy, and now our melodica player, who is a fine pianist in his other life. "How about a band with melodica, accordion and vibes? That'll get some attention. Not sure what kind!" I, Lee Tomboulian, pianist, accordionist and composer, got to work writing and adapting material for this challenging, highly reedy instrumentation, and soon it was joined by the lovely voice of Elizabeth Tomboulian. Rehearsals began in Jersey City, weekly for a while, with Cliff Schmitt on bass

Maryanne Reall

Whether it's jazz, blues, a French tune or a sly “tongue in cheek” pop tune, critics, fans and musicians agree that vocalist Maryanne Reall has a distinctive way of taking you on an intimate adventure with her innate musicality, warm mellifluous tone, subtle caressing of each lyric and tastefully selected repertoire. A native New Englander, music has always been Maryanne’s passion. This passion and her dream to live in ‘California’, inspired by Joni Mitchell’s song, were both realized back in the 90’s. Since then, she’s appeared at countless venues from clubs and festivals to some of L.A.'s top jazz rooms including the world-renown Catalina Jazz Club, the World Stage Performance Gallery and the Southern California Jazz Festival

Richard X Bennett

Pianist/Composer Richard X Bennett plays modernistic and soulful music with a wide ranging sound all his own. He has six jazz and electronica releases on Ubuntu Music and Ropeadope Records as well as six critically acclaimed raga-based records on Indian labels. His quartet album with dynamic saxophonist Matt Parker, Parker Plays X arrived in May 2023.  Beyond the sonic, lies the visual, an indispensable element of his creative process. RXB's art videos accompany most of his compositions, evoking a myriad of emotions through their abstract, whimsical, and esoteric nature. In 2022 he delved even further, expanding his artistic horizons with WIREPARK, a twenty-seven-minute post-industrial lo-fi film. In the convergence of these seemingly disparate elements, a new art form emerges, born of a restless spirit that refuses to be confined by tradition or convention.
