Martin Soderbacka is a jazz guitarist and composer from Finland.
Martin composes music and co-leads several bands together with his wife bassist Eevalotta Matikainen.
Martin studied music at Novia University of Applied Sciences in Jakobstad and graduated in year 2013. Since then he has been touring with current lineups such as soul/jazz quintet Soul What?, duo Martin Soderbacka & Eevalotta Matikainen and with the contemprary quartet SM4. Martin has collaborated with numerous great guest artists such as Viktoria Tolstoy, John Stowell, Jukka Perko, Tom Ollendorff, Felipe Salles, Olli Soikkeli, David Lyttle, Joris Roelofs, Joonatan Rautio, Manuel Dunkel, Daniel Sommer, Teemu Viinikainen and many more. Besides running their own club, ELive Jazz, in their hometown of Kokkola, Martin and his wife Eevalotta have performed at some of the most central jazz clubs and festivals in Finland and played in other countries such as Estonia and Sweden.
