 Marie was born, and her formative years were in Chicago, Illinois USA. Marie's first singing recital was at age seven.

She eagerly sang in AME church choir; However Marie was too shy, to sing when asked by, well known Dee Jay father; Big Bill Hill. Big Bill Hill aired his "Shopping Bag Shop" Blues, R&B Show, on WOPA Radio, in Oak Park, Illinois.

Marie's Mother was a Clinical Dietitian, at University Of Illinois Hospital. Both Parents encouraged her education and arts development.

Marie earned Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia College, in Chicago, Illinois; She worked in education field, until moving to New Mexico in late 1990s
