Luca Luciano

Luca is a noted Italian clarinettist and composer who now makes his home in London, having developed an enviable reputation as an instrumental virtuoso around the UK and overseas via recordings and concert hall appearances” (The Musician). Internationally recognized for his groundbreaking contributions to contemporary clarinet music, he starts his career at the young age of twelve performing at one of the most established halls of his home town Naples and appears on television nationwide live aged 21. Introduced as "the new voice of the clarinet" on the front page of De Klarinet Magazine, Luca graduated from the Conservatoire of Salerno (Italy) and has been awarded the Fellow status at the Higher Education Academy (UK). Described by the BBC Radio as “one of Europe’s leading exponent of jazz clarinet”, Luca “has established himself as the friendly face of contemporary clarinet” according to the Clarinet & Saxophone Society of Great Britain and enjoys a busy career as a performer, a recording artist and a clinician.

Richard Luck

'Shanghai' is the brilliant debut from London-born jazz pianist, Richard Luck. Richard studied at Goldsmiths' College, University of London. During this time he immersed himself in all aspects of piano playing, and whilst performing with the University Big Band, chose the jazz and popular music route. He graduated with a BMus in 2001. Developing this he soon began a Post Graduate Diploma in Jazz Performance at Trinity College of Music, London under the instruction of Martin Speake, Anita Wardell, Malcolm Creese, Pete Saberton and Nick Weldon. He began performing with many ensembles including Trinity College Big Band and the National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO)

Gregg Brennan

Gregg Brennan is a composer, drummer, educator, bandleader and painter currently living in London, England. He is a graduate of Berklee College of music and has studied with, among others Bob Moses, Ian Froman, Skip Hadden and Joe Hunt. Gregg has recorded 3 albums as a leader with his own bands and has appeared on numerous other co-led and sideman outings in the United States and Canada. He regularly plays and records around London with a number of the city’s top musicians in a variety of contexts and scenarios and teaches privately in North London and at The Conservatoire.

Ingrid Laubrock

Born:

Originally from Germany, Ingrid Laubrock started having music lessons at the age of four and began to play classical piano and sing in local choirs aged eight. Her first recording experience dates from that time, singing the solo voice in an arrangement for an a capella choir. Throughout her childhood she performed in church choirs and public concerts at the local music school.

In 1989 Ingrid left Germany for London where she took up the alto saxophone.

A year of studies with ex-Jazz Messenger Jean Toussaint followed in 1992. Soprano and tenor followed shortly afterward. In 1993 she met singer Monica Vasconcelos and guitarist Ife Tolentino, both from Sao Paulo in Brazil.

Born in Guildford, UK, Anita moved to Australia with her family as a child. Anita's formative years were spent soaking up the Rodgers and Hammerstein and Cole Porter classics. She also explored her father's collection of big band albums by Duke Ellington, Count Basie and many more. During her teens, she started to get to grips with the complexities of modern Jazz when she discovered Clifford Brown, Cannonball Adderley, Miles Davis and Charlie Parker. At the same time she learned her vocal craft from greats like Ella Fitzgerald, Mark Murphy, Carmen McRae, Betty Carter, Jon Hendricks and Eddie Jefferson. After attending secondary School she completed her degree in Music at the Adelaide University

Alex Davis and Terry Pettitt have been working together since 1997 when they met at Goldsmiths College whilst studying music. After a number of college performances and work on various larger-scale projects around London, they started performing as a duet for friends, private and corporate functions, and as licenced buskers on the London Underground and South Bank where they frequently draw crowds.Terry's beautifully melodic saxophone style, elegant yet playful, is complimented and well-supported by Alex's smooth and bass-centric guitar playing. Their style and repertoire ranges through romantic jazz and bebop to funk and latin, although they refuse to be limited and will happily arrange a version of any tune for a willing audience.

With a name like Tanja Maritsa one might guess that the London based singer songwriter, has some exotic connections. Indeed they might be even more exotic than you first imagine.... Born to an English mother and Croatian father, Tanja spent the first five formidable years of her life living in Paris, France. It's no irony then that her first spoken words were spoken in the language of love - French! Her early years growing up in Paris were extremely vital to her development as an artist and as is evident from her new album 'Fragile', these images and sounds remain seared into her soul, and to this day are a vital part of her compositions. However while Paris and the French culture are important, there have also been other influences on Tanja as an artist
