Biography

The Jason Lyon Quartet (pianist Jason Lyon, tenor and alto saxophonist Ian Bailey, drummer Sophie Alloway and bassist Alan Gibson) performs a hard swinging and unconventional repertoire spanning contemporary bop, Latin, funk and township. The group is influenced by modern post-bop artists such as Chick Corea, Michael Brecker, Kenny Garrett and Branford Marsalis.

Jason's classical piano concerto was premiered in Vidin, Bulgaria in September 2010.
