Mo and Dawn the Remix Project
The collaboration between trumpeter, singer/songwriter Dawn Weber and pianist and bandleader Mo Egeston spanned 1997- 2008. The result was a remarkably consistent string of successful bands including Vargas Swing, Vargas, and from 2000-2005 the pioneering live house band Urban Jazz Naturals. Eclipsing the national rep acquired by Vargas Swing, UJN’s run was the most successful project for the duo. UJN released a debut EP followed by two singles in the DJ driven dance market. These releases, How Can I (Gallery) with a remix by JT Donaldson and the Urban Jazz EP with a remix by Demarkus Lewis (Large Music), were both written by mo&dawn with production by UJN members Christian Oncken and Don Tinsely

Lafayette Gilchrist
“Lafayette Gilchrist lives in Baltimore but grew up in D.C., knee-deep in the city's go-go music and hip-hop. Go-go dance beats inform his piano the same way freight-train boogie-woogie does. Players like EubieBlake, James P. Johnson and Willie ‘The Lion’ Smith could keep going for hours without exhausting their folkloric materials. If there's one thing Lafayette Gilchrist loves, it's feeding a groove like that. There's something trance-inducing about dance music in general, and in the textured patterns that Lafayette Gilchrist plays at the keyboard. His two-handed piano also has techno and minimalism behind it

Henry Hey
Henry has an innate curiosity and unique ability to bring multiple musical influences together. This is probably because everything from the Beatles to Bach to Count Basie to the sound of Henry’s own father playing various musical instruments could be heard at any time in his Midwest childhood home. One famously curious artist, David Bowie, identified with this spirit in Henry during the making of The Next Day, on which Henry played piano and keyboards. Bowie then chose him as arranger and musical director to help reimagine his classic songs and to shape new ones, creating the sound for what would be Bowie’s final work, Lazarus. Henry immerses himself in original projects and creative collaborations expressing his own voice
