Joan Mar Sauqué

Born:

He was born in 1996 in Garrigoles, Girona. His musical beginnings are homemade but it was at the Torroella de Montgrí Music School where he received his first lessons, first in trumpet and musical language and later in combo, big band and improvisation. In 2011, he started giving classes with David Pastor, who soon introduced the Sant Andreu Jazz Band, a band directed by Joan Chamorro with whom he played from time to time. Together with this band, he had the opportunity to play and record with some of the most outstanding musicians of the national and international scene such as Perico Sambeat, Toni Belenguer, Victor Correa, Ernesto Aurignac, David Pastor, Ignasi Terraza, Esteve Pi, Josep Traver, Scott Hamilton, Dick Oatts, Scott Robinson, Jon-Erik Kellso, Luigi Grasso and Joel Frahm. In 2012 he was admitted to the Oriol Martorell School, which is why he moved to Barcelona and also in order to study the batxillerat and the professional degree in classical trumpet
