Johannes Luley

Early Years

Born in Hamburg, raised in Darmstadt, Germany, Johannes grew up in a very supportive and music-loving household. At age 13 he became the youngest student at “Jazz Schule Darmstadt”, where he studied guitar under Eddy Marron (Dzyan, Missus Beastly, Giger-Lenz-Marron). His other teachers include Berklee School of Music alum Rolf Bussalb and Torsten de Winkel.

The Studio

Still in his late teens and early 20’s, Johannes began a career as a studio guitarist and landed a few high profile engagements with artists. Among them Camouflage (Love is a Shield), Ina Deter (Ich will die Hälfte der Welt) and Justin Hayward of the Moody Blues. During this time, he had the great opportunity to work with top producers Edo Zanki, Tommy Schmidt-Zijnen and Ken Taylor. Those guys were calling all the shots in the studio, which led Johannes to embark on an engineering and producing career that has lasted to this day.

Matt Clark

Born: July 2, 1971

Matt Clark is a guitarist/composer from Brighton, England. His career has spanned 35 years, encompassing genres as broad as jazz and blues, alternative, experimental and electronic music. The past year of COVID and lockdown has been both testing and inspiring. Lack of live music and in-person collaboration has meant re-thinking musical output. Matt is currently working under the moniker Matt Clark Three: “Jazz influenced grooves. Mostly instrumental. Björn Meyer

Born: September 5, 1965

For more than thirty years, Björn — Swedish-born and Swiss-based — has shaped a unique voice for his instrument inside the most diverse contexts. He has worked alongside Persian harpist and singer Asita Hamidi and is a long term collaborator with Tunisian oud master Anouar Brahem. He has spent more than twenty years with Swedish nyckelharpa player Johan Hedin and percussionist Fredrik Gille in Bazar Blå, co-defining the sound of contemporary Swedish folk music. For more than a decade he was a member of the minimalistic, zen-funk, groove-collective Nik Bärtsch’s Ronin.His first solo-album “Provenance” was released by ECM in the fall of 2017

Pau viguer

Born: April 15, 1967

Pau Viguer, a pianist and jazz composer born in Valencia, began studying piano at the age of 7. He obtained the superior degree of piano in the Superior Conservatory of Valencia. He studied classical music getting top marks and jazz with pianists Ricardo Belda, Donato Marot and John Serry. He has also taken courses with Xavi Folch, Ximo Tébar, Robert Rodríguez, Jorge Pardo, etc. He has belonged to numerous modern music groups, such as Fernando Poo, Mala Fama, Controversia or Brooklyn, winning various awards in the Valencian Community. He toured Spain with the group "Revolver". He currently performs concerts with the group So Cuban, Elena Martín Trío and leads the group Pau Viguer Trío, a formation that includes songs composed by himself, and has released four recordings. He composes music for various record labels and other artists. He is also an accompanist pianist for various singers and instrumentalists of pop, jazz, funk, soul, etc. He currently works as a specialist teacher of music in Primary Education while teaching classical and modern piano and continues to compose and perform live concerts.

Tyr Morris

As leader of Perfect Pitch Project, Tyr has stepped out front to boldly explore his musical ideas through the medium of jazz for the past decade after years of preparation as a sideman and freelance artist. A student of renowned trumpeters Eddie Allen and the late Jim Rotondi, whether on flugelhorn or solo trumpet, his smooth tonality and minimalist colorings reflect the styles of legendary musical influences Miles Davis, Clifford Brown, Lee Morgan, and Roy Hargrove. With continued devotion to his craft and hard work, Tyr continues to grow as an artist while surrounded by the talented musicians within his ensemble.

Jussi Reijonen

Born: November 11, 1980

Born in Rovaniemi, a small town on the Arctic Circle in Finnish Lapland, fretted/fretless guitarist and oud player Jussi Reijonen is truly a product of the liminal spaces between cultures.

Having grown up in Finland, Jordan, Tanzania, Oman and Lebanon, and spending much of his adulthood in the United States, Jussi has lived a life soaking up sounds, sights, scents and shades of Nordic, Arabic, African and North American aesthetics and expression, all of which are reflected in his creative work as composer and performer.

Jussi’s debut album un | ان [unmusic 2013] was released to great critical acclaim, with Guitar Player magazine referring to it as “extraordinary music” and Lucid Culture calling it a “still, spacious, slowly unwinding masterpiece”. The album was nominated for an Independent Music Award in 2014.

Jeff Bernstein

Born: July 1, 1959

Jeff Bernstein has been playing bass for 50 years, and has performed in a number of jazz, fusion and classic rock groups and big band jazz ensembles. A native of Brooklyn, New York, he now calls Atlanta home. His influences are Jaco Pastorius, Jimmy Haslip, Lee Ritenour, Leland Sklar, and others. He has performed over the years on numerous commercials and studio sessions, and performed live across the NY metro area's venues.
