The JM Jazz World Orchestra is a young jazz orchestra composed of exceptionally talented musicians from around the globe. Under the guidance of acclaimed artist Luis Bonilla, the orchestra explores the boundaries of jazz, fusing it with diverse musical genres to create groundbreaking and unforgettable performances. The band tours annually since 2005 and performs at prestigious venues and jazz festivals across Europe and the world: musicians are carefully selected from around the world, with only the highest level of musicianship chosen to participate.

Sebastian Spanache

Romanian jazz pianist and composer Sebastian Spanache started his musical journey in his home town Timisoara, where he began playing the piano at age 5, and then took up the study of jazz in ninth grade while attending the National College of Arts ‘Ion Vidu’. While still studying classical piano in high-school, Sebastian founded his first jazz/funk ensemble at age 14, later to have toured all over Romania and win numerous prizes at student competitions. 

After college, Sebastian shifted his playing and compositional directions towards a more modern edge- leading and composing for several student latin-jazz and funk ensembles

Leading his own band from the drum chair, Alex’s unique music pushes a fresh rhythmic and dynamic realm of live dance music leaning on nu-jazz, deep-house, broken beat, DnB, funk, and experimental sounds. The band is catching ears within Australia and internationally, having recently performed at WOMADelaide, Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Adelaide Jazz Festival, and Berlin clubs Privatclub and Badehaus, with upcoming international tours on the horizon.

Tony Song was born in South Bend, Indiana. Starting on piano at age 4, he switched to clarinet at age 9. Having discovered he had a natural talent for music, he found himself receiving numerous awards and accolades as a performer in competitions, festivals, and bands/orchestras. However, despite his love for music, and with advice from his parents, he chose to pursue an undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia in biomedical engineering. These four years of college were important to Tony for finding where his identity and passion lay. During his second year of college, he discovered the guitar by watching and learning from his college roommates and friends

Ron Bosse

Boston-based guitarist and composer Ron Bosse has appeared throughout the United States and Canada, and has performed and recorded with jazz greats Dave Liebman, Bob Mintzer, Lil’ John Roberts, Jeff Lorber, Norman Brown, Ben Shepherd, Gary Novak, MonoNeon, Hadrien Feraud, Jimmy Haslip, Sonny Emory, Bob Reynolds, Mike Stern, George Garzone and Jerry Bergonzi. Ron has been praised for his work in Jazz Times, Downbeat, Jazz Now, Guitar Player Magazine, the Boston Globe and the New York Times.

A graduate of Boston’s prestigious Berklee College of Music, Ron has been an active player and bandleader for many years. In 1994, he was voted “Outstanding Guitarist” by Guitar Player Magazine who called him “a master in the making.”

Javier Rosario

Guitar virtuoso, composer, bandleader, educator and recording artist, Javier Rosario is the first ever Michel Camilo Scholarship winner. The scholarship was an initiative of the Dominican born, Grammy, Latin Grammy and Emmy Award winning pianist. It has been the first scholarship of its kind in the history of the Dominican Republic, where Javier was born in Santo Domingo. In 2006, Javier attended Berklee College of Music with full scholarship, graduating with the highest ratings ever given to a guitarist. In 2009, he performed at the Berklee Jazz and Blues Guitar Night: a concert which only featured the very top players of the entire school. In 2010, Javier decided to further his studies at the Longy School of Music of Bard College with a master’s degree. There he was awarded a Presidential Scholarship and was acknowledged by his guitar teachers as possibly the highest-level guitarist ever to enter the jazz program.

Jarez is a contemporary saxophonist with a ear for what is hot. In a few short years, he has gone from being known as “Mr. Sexy Saxy’ to the mayor of J FUNK CITY, his 2020 CD full of all-star guests and ultra funky goodness. Featured artists include Julian Vaughn, Vandell Andrew, Willie Bradley, Ragan Whiteside and Gerald Albright.

J Funk City has made a sizzling impact of the music citizens of the world. With the release of the CD, Jarez became the indie saxophonist to have number 1’s on all SmoothJazz.com charts at one time with this release. Additionally, the J Funk City mayor made #1 on the Groove Jazz Music Charts and Radio Wave Monitor Charts for the single “24 Hours” (featuring Julian Vaughn), as well as the Top 10 on the Smooth Jazz Network Charts and the Smooth Jazz Billbord charts for the same single. J Funk City features the well-known steamy side of the mayor’s saxophone, but lends itself overall to a more muscular and athletic approach for summertime grooving.

Dave Kelbie

Dave Kelbie has devoted his professional career to playing rhythm guitar. Over the last 30 years he has been a prominent accompanist to many of the world’s leading jazz soloists and possibly every celebrated guitarist in the Gypsy jazz world.

His Quartet Lejazz and Fapy Lafertin released the iconic CDs Swing Guitars in 1994 and Hungaria in 1996, two seminal recordings that are as majestic for their music as they are for their sound – and viewed by many as the definitive Gypsy jazz albums since the last recorded releases of Quintet of the Hot Club of France

Randy Resnick

Born:

Randy Resnick  is a guitarist who has played and recorded with many blues and jazz luminaries, such as Don "Sugarcane" Harris, John Lee Hooker, Red Holloway, John Mayall and Freddie King. He was developing a tapping style in the early 1970s. He published a CD of his own music, "To Love", in 1995, featuring musician friends from Tower of Power, Herbie Hancock Monster Band, and Tom Waits.

In October 2012, Randy played with Canned Heat  at blues festivals in Bergerac and Avignon, France.
