Boyce Hudson

Born: August 5, 1985

Boyce is an emerging male jazz vocalist whose unique sound seamlessly blends the
emotive power of gospel with the smooth sophistication of jazz and the groove of
neo-soul. With a voice that captivates listeners from the first note, Boyce brings a
fresh, yet timeless approach to the world of jazz.

His musical journey began in the church, where he honed his vocal technique and
developed a deep connection to the emotional depth of gospel music. Influenced
by greats like Donny Hathaway, Johnny Mathis, Sarah Vaughn, and Luther
Vandross, his style evokes both the spirit of traditional jazz and the soulful
resonance of contemporary sounds.

Michael Barton

Michael’s career as a bassist began in the suburbs of Chicago, performing with college ensembles while still in high school, and frequenting clubs in the city before having a driver’s license. These early experiences led him to the University of North Texas, where he earned a Bachelor’s (1998) and Master’s Degree (2000) in Jazz Studies. There he learned the language of music, composition and arranging – and experimented with audio recording and production. After graduating, he continued working as a session player and sideman in Dallas.

In the college library, Michael had studied not only music but the images that surrounded it. Returning to Chicago in 2002, he began to expand his art beyond music, to visual creation and photography. In less than a decade, he progressed from receiving his first camera, to full-time photographer, to decorated Master of Photography. His work has seen publication in numerous international photography magazines, been displayed in galleries across the United States, and garnered a long list of awards and accolades. With his accomplishments as a photographer, he became an in-demand educator, teaching throughout the United States. In 2013, he became the youngest-ever recipient of a Fellowship from the American Society of Photographers. Following this achievement, Michael began seeking ways to reconnect his love of visual art with his obsession for music.

Jim Holman

Jim Holman is a pianist/composer/educator rooted in Chicago who has performed with Eric Alexander, {{m: Paul Wertico = 13447}}, Ira Sullivan, Ari Brown, Claudio Roditi, Jimmy Chamberlin (drummer for the smashing Pumpkins), Frank Catalano, Roger Humphries, Cecil Bridgewater, Yotam Silberstein, Donald Harrison, John Moulder, Abe Laboriel, Dennis Carroll, Clark Sommers, Richie Cole and Dana Hall and many more.

Holman’s upcoming album features New York tenor legend, Eric Alexander, along with Clark Sommers, and Tim Davis. His discography also includes two albums on the Delmark lable: “Blues Skies” feat. Ira Sullivan and Roger Humphries, and “Explosion” feat. Richie Cole and Frank Catalano. His most recent release, “Faith,” features alto powerhouse Greg Ward II and Barrett Harmon, and showcases Holman’s compositional perspective.
