Rocío Giménez López

Born:
ROCÍO GIMÉNEZ LÓPEZ (Argentina, 1983) is a pianist, composer and improviser, graduated from the Provincial School of Music of the city of Rosario. Later he focused on interpretation and improvisation within the language of jazz by attending piano lessons with Ernesto Jodos, Leo Genovese, Craig Taborn and Marilyn Crispell. He has also attended workshops and workshops given by Frank Calberg, John Stowell, Mark Helias, George Garzone, Benoit Delbecq and Kris Davis, among others. In 2015 he won a scholarship granted by the National Endowment for the Arts to participate in the III Third National Meeting of Composition and Improvisation, in Bariloche. In 2016 he founded the collective and festival of composers/improvisers CRUCES SONOROS, which brings together representatives of different musical genres promoting the development of activities related to original music and its meeting point with individual and collective improvisation. In 2017, she won a training scholarship, which gave her the opportunity to study with pianist Marilyn Crispell in Woodstock, USA. She was also invited to open Ravi Coltrane's concert in Rosario. In 2018 she was chosen as Revelation Musician for her album “Deseos Múltiples” in the national survey of journalists carried out by the Jazz magazine El Intruso. In 2019 he participates with his group of original compositions presenting the album at the Rosario Jazz Festival, at the Haroldo Conti Jazz Festival (BsAs) and at the Buenos Aires Jazz (Parque Centenario). He also toured Spain and France. In 2020 she is invited again to participate in Buenos Aires Jazz in a trio format (virtual concert at Usina del Arte). In 2021 he releases REUNION EN LA GRANJA (ICM records), an album that revisits the music of Ornette Coleman and Paul Motian, chosen by Dave Sumner as one of the twelve best albums of the year released on the BANDCAMP platform. The same year the FNA grants him a Creation scholarship that allows him to continue working on a composition project based on abstract photographs used as graphic scores (project in development). He currently works as a pianist and leader, in different musical projects within the cities of Rosario and Buenos Aires.

Marcin Wasilewski Trio is: Marcin Wasilewski, piano, (born 1975), Sławomir Kurkiewicz, double- bass, (born 1975) and Michał Miśkiewicz (born 1977) playing drums.
The band combines the grand tradition of the challenging piano trio tenet and creates their own distinct sound in doing so. It is also one of the most consistently developing bands of the Polish music scene, and one that is very open to inspiration from the surrounding environment. The Marcin Wasilewski Trio is considered one of the most acclaimed and unique jazz formations of its generation, and it has garnered recognition in its native Poland as well as abroad.

Justin Salisbury

Justin Salisbury is a Brooklyn-based pianist, keyboardist, and electronic musician. He began his musical journey taking piano lessons at an early age, as well as studying with several of the Pacific Northwest’s finest musicians, such as Sharon Moe, Clay Giberson, Derek Sims, and Alan Jones. In 2013, Justin had the honor of playing piano at the Portland Jazz Festival, under the direction of NEA Jazz Master Gerald Wilson. Later that year, he received the Jimmy Lyons Scholarship- a full-tuition scholarship to attend the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Domi Edson

Born:
Domi Edson is an emerging force in jazz education, leadership, and performance. Originally from Seattle and now residing in Denver, Domi has performed at Dazzle, Frankie's Jazz Club, Yardbird Suite, The Royal Room, The International Society of Bassists Conference, live on KUVO and KNKX, and at multiple Jazz Education Network conferences. As a sidewoman, she has performed with Terrell Stafford, Jason Marsalis, Charles McPherson, Greg Gisbert, Dawn Clement, and many others. In 2021 she was awarded the David Baker scholarship for her talent, spirit, and commitment to the field of jazz studies. Domi has founded and organized Women in Jazz Days in both Washington and Colorado, and has served as a faculty member for the CCJA SheBop Young Women in Jazz Workshop, Vail Jazz Goes to Schools, and the Gift of Jazz's Jazz for the Schools Series.

Andreas Hertel

Born:
Andreas Hertel is a German jazz pianist, composer, bandleader, and piano teacher. Since the early 90ies he has been active on the German jazz scene.
He published 10 CDs with mainly original compositions in solo, trio, and quintet settings and wrote about 200 jazz tunes, some big band arrangements, and theatre music. Two of his CDs received longlist nominations for a German Record Critic's Award ("Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik"): "Blue Bop" (Trio, 2022) and "Keepin' the Spirit" (2015), feat. guest stars Dusko Goykovich (tp/flh), Tony Lakatos (sax), "Lady Bass" Lindy Huppertsberg (b), Jens Biehl (dr).
His Christmas song "It might be Christmas Every Day" won a "Global Music Award" (Silver Medal) in March 2024.

Leandros Pasias

Leandros Pasias was born in Thessaloniki. At the age of 10 he began piano lessons with his teacher Tasos Mantzaris at the conservatory Musicworkshop. Also he took classical harmony and jazz harmony lessons with Jiannis Angelakis at the Modern Conservatory of Thessaloniki.
At the age of 18 he continued his studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in the department of jazz piano with professors Karel Boehlee, Rob van Bavel, Hans Vroomans and classical piano lessons with Gert-Jan Vermeulen. Among others, he attended the workshop of the internationally renowned professor Arnold Dooyewerd. In Amsterdam took part in seminars with: Avishai Cohen Trio, Mike Clark, Dominique DiPiazza, Robin Eubanks, Panagiotis Andreou, Hilario Duran Trio, Enrico Pieranunzi, Dennis Mackrel, Miles Okazaki and Jeff Levenson.

Rasmus Sørensen

Born and raised in a musical family in rural Denmark, pianist, composer and improviser Rasmus Sørensen moved to NYC in 2018 and has since gained wide recognition for his accessible yet forward-looking sound both as a musician and composer. Having collaborated with a vast array of artists across genres over the years as well as having toured extensively, his debut trio album "Traits" is due for release in june 2022 and exhibits Rasmus' perception of the world around us through his musical scope.
