Groovosophers

The Groovosophers band was formed in Krakow in March 2023, continuing the tradition of the Goddard Quartet/Quintet band, founded in 1997 at the jazz workshops in Chodziez. Over the years, musicians have met in various lineups and musical genres, and in 2023 they decided to fulfil their dreams and combine their strengths, creating their own energetic material together.

In July 2023 and 2024, the band played at the Night of the Museum at the medieval castle Pieskowa Skała in Sułoszowa. In April 2024, Groovosophers was a part of the celebration of the opening of the Improwizacja Jazz Club in Krakow and as guest, Leszek Żądło on soprano saxophone joined the band on stage. In September 2024, the band played as a headliner on the 8th Hammond Kielce Festival. The band plays energetic concerts in jazz clubs around.

Carlo Chapelle

     Acclaimed vocalist Carlo Chapelle has been delighting audiences across the globe with what WINDY CITY TIMES calls his "warm tone" and "high register." CABARET SCENES exclaims that Carlo has "dazzled" and "engaged audiences" with "his subtle falsetto" from Tokyo's ON THE MARKS to Manila's Jazz lounge at the CONRAD, New York's DON'T TELL MAMA'S, and various music venues in Chicago, including DAVENPORT'S, UNCOMMON GROUND, BORELLI'S, UNDERGROUND WONDER BAR, KATERINA'S, and GENTRY.

     Carlo's 2009 debut recording, SHADE OF BLUE, earned him international radio play and several hundred thousand streams, capturing critical acclaim. The track "PLEASE DON'T ASK ME" reached #37 on AUSTRALIA'S iTunes Radio Jazz Charts. CHICAGO'S WZRD 88.3 FM host Meagan Panici called the recording "beautiful... nothing like it." Jazz contemporary recording artist KEVYN LETTAU praised him, saying, "This man has the voice of an angel." Another track, "ON A BUS TO ST. CLOUD," became a top trending song on REVERBNATION, gaining over 20,000 streams in one week. The album is available on iTunes, Amazon Music, and all streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, and Shazam.

Rahel Talts

Rahel Talts is a younger generation rising jazz pianist and composer from Estonia. In her music, she likes to mix jazz with elements from folk, pop and fusion, using sweet melodies, interesting rhythmic layers and switching between acoustic piano and electric keyboard sound. Rahel plays in many different bands and projects over Europe, either as a leader or a sidewoman.

Ben Tweedt

Ben Tweedt is a pianist, composer, arranger, and music educator based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born in Brunswick, Ohio and raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Ben began his classical training on the piano from a young age. By the beginning of his Piano Performance bachelor's degree at the University of Nebraska-Omaha at the age of 17, he began to switch his focus to improvisation and composition while actively participating in the Omaha music scene.

In 2016, Ben moved to his current home city of Cincinnati, where he works full-time as a freelance musician, performing and teaching around the region spanning many genres and playing with a variety of artists. In addition to his own projects including a piano trio and a progressive jazz fusion quartet, Ben performs regularly with other notable musicians in the region including drummer/percussionist Walfredo Reyes Jr. and guitarist Dan Wilson. Ben was also the grand prize winner of the 2019 American Jazz Pianist Competition at the Yamaha Artist Center in New York.

horanVi

The doors are open...'Before It Lasted' out February 14th, for all the romantics???? horanVi began life as a passion project between guitarist & producer Sam Horan and vocalist ‘Violet’. The pair met in Leeds and formed part of Jazz/ Neo Soul/ Dub collective Kalyan. When the pandemic struck the band split, but the synergy between them endured and over the last few years they exchanged ideas across the English Channel and the seeds were sown. Now both back on home soil in the UK, the newly fledged writing duo will be releasing new tunes throughout this year from their forthcoming album - written, produced and mixed by Sam from his home studio in London, which occasionally features fellow Jazz musicians along the way

Mike Prigodich

Born: March 16, 1970

Hailed by critics as a composer whose work “may reshape how jazz fusion is approached in the 21st century,” Mike Prigodich is a jazz fusion pianist, composer, and bandleader whose music blends intricate architecture with emotional immediacy. Drawing inspiration from innovators like Chick Corea and Dave Grusin, Prigodich creates rhythmically daring compositions that fuse jazz with Latin grooves, rock energy, and global influences from his early years in East Africa and SE Asia.

He first gained attention with his 2011 debut album A Stitch in Time, featuring an all-star lineup including Damian Erskine, Reinhardt Melz, and John Nastos. Funded through a successful Kickstarter campaign following Prigodich’s life-altering cancer diagnosis in 2008, the project marked a powerful artistic turning point. Producer and keyboardist George Whitty called the album “one of those discs you want to hear again as soon as it’s finished.”

Jim Hopson

Jim Hopson is a JUNO Award-nominated trombonist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger, and educator based in Vancouver, BC, Canada. He has been called a music industry ‘Game Changer’ (Stir Magazine, 2024) whose extensive body of work blurs the boundaries between genres. A dedicated educator, he has taught private lessons and clinics to thousands of young musicians, and is an Adjunct Professor at the UBC School of Music. Jim is a prolific composer/arranger/orchestrator, whose original work has been featured on numerous albums, TV shows, video games, and films

Karl Clews

Karl began his musical odyssey at the age of 8, on the classical guitar. Having achieved a distinction at grade 8 and a Performer’s Diploma by the age of 16, Karl turned his attention to the bass guitar: ‘I was heavily into soul, funk and fusion as a teenager,’ he states, ‘and I quickly realized that it was the bass guitar that really drove and directed this kind of music.’

Influenced by such virtuoso bass players as Stanley Clarke, Jaco Pastorius, Marcus Miller, Louis Johnson, Armand Sabal-Lecco and Mark King, Karl developed a distinctive percussive and rhythmic style that quickly established him as an in-demand player for jazz, blues and soul bands whilst still at university in Oxford

Dennis Haklar

Dennis started performing music at Rutgers University. He joined the Improvising Structures Ensemble lead by minimalist composer Dan Goode. The group performed the music of John Cage, Terry Riley and others, it also gave Dennis  the opportunity to hear his original compositions played by a large ensemble. This group also featured jazz saxophonist Eric Kloss. After a few years playing with this ensemble Dennis left to work as a session guitarist at Pyramid Recording Studio.
