The most internationally popular Czech singer began her career in 1964 by winning the Hledáme nové zpěváky competition. She applied her talent not only on domestic stages, but drew attention to herself abroad as well, where she collected a number of important awards. She gave concerts on five continents and in almost all European countries. She performed twice at New York's Carnegie Hall. During her sixty-year career, she sang over 1,700 songs, many of which became hits. She has released over eighty solo albums, sold over 20 million music carriers worldwide.
