Copenhagen-based Gypsy Vendetta is an experience of extraordinary energy and creativity. Having existed for almost a decade, the band has established itself as a leading ensemble in the Gypsy- jazz style on the Danish music scene. After hundreds of concerts and a well-received debut album, Gypsy Vendetta has developed their own very personal sound, while preserving the essence of the Jazz Manouche tradition. The album “Odd Club Copenhagen”, featuring violinist Alfkil Wennermark, consists of original compositions, seeking to challenge the genre and explore new directions for the development of the modern Gypsy Jazz sound. Gypsy Vendetta has toured in a variety of constellations and collaborations – such as the popular Danish troubadour Bo Evers, creating a unique sound-universe with a blend of singer/songwriter- folk and swinging Gypsy Jazz

Lee Engele

Lee has been gaining more and more acclaim as a talented and hard-working vocalist in the region. Her recent gigs have included The Dakota, The Twin Cities Jazz Festival, and Hopkins Center for the Arts, as well as many of the local jazz venues. Lee was a participant in the 2008 edition of the prestigious Yale Cabaret Conference, and appeared at the Bloomington Center for the Arts in December 2009 with Debbie Duncan and Bruce Henry in a salute to the 60th anniversary of Birdland. Omer Ashano

Ashano’s musical influences are as cosmopolitan as he is, having lived in several places including Amsterdam, New York City, Athens and various cities and villages in Israel. As a result of these experiences and engaging with different people throughout his travels in Europe, North America and the far East, Ashano was constantly influenced by a variety of cultural inspirations and local communities. This helped shape his eclectic musical identity, which holds traces of Israeli music, African-american music, Classical music as well as folklore music from Africa, Romania and India.
Born in 1993, Ashano started playing violin when he was six years old, later taking up the guitar at age 13. At the time, his guitar teachers were the influencers who exposed Omer to the styles of Blues, Rock n’ Roll and Jazz as well as the ideas and possibilities surrounding improvisation. It was from this exposure that Omer started experimenting with this new knowledge and adapting it for the violin.

Gustav Lundgren

Gustav Lundgren is one of Sweden's most prominent jazz guitarists right now. He was born in Stockholm 1980, started to play guitar at age 12. He studied music in Stockholm, Bollnäs and Svalöv between 1996-2000. Gustav started to play at clubs around Stockholm at age 16 and made his first tour to Spain with his own trio at age 19. Between 2000-2010 Gustav toured Japan, USA, England, Brazil, France, Syria, Turkey, Scotland, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, Norway & Finland with different jazz groups. He has recorded over 70 CDs as a side man and over 20 solo albums.
