Based in murky (but “mint”) Manchester, Boomerang Parlour combine acid techno, jazz and hip-hop to create their sound. Founded by guitarist and song-scribbler Will Havard, the group pool from a compelling concoction of influences from The Police, Paul Simon and Pat Metheny to Squarepusher, Cocteau Twins and Jojo Mayer/Nerve. Bringing a blend of cinematic themes, dance-(ish) grooves and engaging improvisation together with an infectious energy, they like the pretty stuff as well as the glitchy stuff

Darko Jurkovic - Charlie

Born:
Darko Jurkovic was born on April 20, 1965 in Rijeka, Croatia. He studied the violin in lower music school, finishing in 1979. He started playing the guitar as a self-taught fifteen year old. Jurkovic first became interested in jazz at the age of 17, soon after embracing a special technique known as “two hands tapping,” developed by American guitarist Stanley Jordan. In 1990, Jurkovic enrolled in the jazz department of the Academy of Music in Graz (Austria), graduating in 1997 with the master’s degree in arts (Magister der Kunst). Already during his studies, Jurkovic was recognized at many international performances including "Jazz Herbst Wien" (Austria, 1993) "Raab Jazz Festival" (Austria, 1994), "Bologna Festival of Acoustic Guitars” (Italy, 1996). Throughout his career, Jurkovic has collaborated with Top Croatian jazz musicians, including Kruno Levacic, Tonci Grabusic, Henry Radanovic, Sasa Nestorovic as well as international jazz greats like Gene Jackson, Mario Fragiacomo, Comisso Angelo, Roberto Magris, Bobby Watson, Herb Geller, Dusko Gojkovic, Frantisek Uhlir, Jaromir Helesic, Michael Hauser and many others. Darko Jurkovic is a Croatian musician with most appearances abroad (approximately fifty per year)

Mathias Baumann

Music can express and evoke feelings that nobody has words for.’ Dublin based guitarist Mathias Baumann is originally from Nassau, Germany and moved to Ireland in 2005. With many years of recording and touring experience in different countries, he has been working as a session guitarist, composer and guitar teacher since 1998. Mathias studied Jazz at Blackrock’s Newpark Music Centre and finished the four- year degree course in May 2013 with an honours degree in ‘Bachelor Of Arts in Jazz Performance’. He has performed and recorded with many artists from different genre, as well as his own groups Mathias Baumann Quartet and Mathias Baumann Group

Mark Schuster is a guitarist from Chicago. He started playing drums at the age of 10, and a few years later turned to the guitar. While attending college, he pursued a music degree and chose the guitar as his main instrument, exploring both classical and jazz. Being exposed to, and playing, many different genres of music over the years has made Mark the eclectic musician he is today. Mark's approach to playing the guitar is sometimes aggressive, sometimes relaxed, but always passionate.

Francesco Chiarini

Italian guitarist and jazz singer. Among Francesco Chiarini's most important live achievements of particular importance are: finalist in the Italian Jazz contest for composers "Nicola Arigliano" (2016), exhibition at 12/14 Jazz Club -#1 club in Poland-, opened the concert to Enrico Rava New Quartet (2016, Lecce Italy), as well as multiple participation in the festival "Tendenze" in Piacenza (one of the biggest music events in the region of Emilia- Romagna), concerts on the exclusive Lake Garda riviera and on the beloved Adriatic sea. Jeff Swanson

Guitarist Jeff Swanson has made his unique voice and open mind a valued part of Chicago’s diverse music scene. A strong player in many disciplines, he has been featured at the Chicago Jazz Festival, Hyde Park Jazz Festival, Iowa City Jazz Festival, Chicago Gospel Festival. Case-fitter, is Swanson’s first original full-length release. It was recorded over four weeks in April 2017 during a residency at The Whistler in Chicago. Each week the group used a set repertoire and added members to its core trio, exploring a different experience each week and concluding with the final recorded performance as an octet. Swanson brings a fresh lyrical approach to meshing jazz, improvisation, electronic and post-rock music together on this release
