Alfonso Adan

Alfonso Adan (1976) is a European jazz guitarist, composer, and recording artist. With more than 30 years of experience as a performer, his style characterizes by a carefully crafted compositional technique where he combines elements of classical and modern music, with a strong influence and knowledge of Afro-American music and European jazz. His great curiosity about music led him to take lessons since he was six years old. A few years later, motivated by the eagerness he had to learn more about what he liked so much, he formally began to study guitar at the music conservatory. From a very young age, Alfonso felt identified with the sound he could get from an electric guitar, and this led him to develop a professional career along with his studies of classical music at the conservatory

Jan Akkerman

Born: December 24, 1946

For over fifty years, Jan Akkerman (b. 1946) has been one of Holland’s most respected guitarists. In addition to his leading role in the globally acclaimed bands like The Hunters, Brainbox, Focus and collaborated with many local and international artists, in his solo projects, Akkerman has combined rock, jazz, blues, classical music and dance in his own distinctive style. Throughout his respected career, Akkerman has appeared on worldwide stages. Besides several gigs at the Montreux Jazz Festival, the North Sea Jazz Festival, he has played on countless tours around theatres and various stages, also performing far beyond Europe in countries/comtinents like Japan, Russia, Syria, North & South America and Australia. Since early 2012, Jan has revived his old Brainbox times with the start of My Brainbox, featuring ex-Vandenberg singer Bert Heerink

Gen Cotena

Born: February 12, 1986

Gen Cotena has played with some of the best italian jazz players like double bassist Attilio Zanchi recording together two albums with guest such as Tino Tracanna and Max De Aloe. Caminante is the first work as leader, with Nazzareno Brischetto on trumpet, Marco Rottoli on doublebass and Matteo Rebulla on Drums. The album came out 16 October 2018 for “SMV” italian label- The artistic director is Fabrizio Fedele (guitarist and composer). Gen starts his career in 2012, playing all round the country with a band called “Sonatin for a Jazz Funeral” in festival like IMaggio Festival, Voci dal Sud, MEI di Faenza, Beatscape Festival Internazionale della musica indipendente etc. With the same band he recorded an album called “SFJF” with the label Tippin’the velvet. In 2014 he has a brief experience in Berlin, playing around the best city’s club

Wayne Wesley Johnson is a professional Award Winning Guitarist who formerly toured with guitar legend, Les Paul, recorded and performed with Nokie Edwards (The Ventures), and others, and has performed with Mason Williams (Classical Gas). He has sold over 80,000 CDs worldwide and his music is heard Internationally on over 400 radio stations and on "Roswell," "Malcolm in the Middle," Discovery Channel, "Outward Bound," MTV's "Made," and the Weather Channel to name but a few. He has toured and performed all over the world including China, Israel, Europe, South America and in most of the 50 states

Luca Pino

Luca Pino has been making the trek from his hometown of Long Beach, CA to Django in June for several years now and every year he shows up an even better, more seasoned player. He couldn’t get any nicer, so in that regard he hasn’t progressed at all. He first joined our teaching staff—winning rave reviews—in 2017 and we’re happy to have him back in that capacity again. Luca started playing Django-jazz with clarinetist Kale Stiles while they were still in high school. Now they, along with Gage Hulsey, make up the core members of Hedgehog Swing. Here’s a video clip of them in action, performing “Stardust.” Luca’s highlights from 2017 included taking the stage for the first time at Djangofest Northwest, with the Eric Vanderbilt All Stars
