David Reaston

Born:
David Reaston is a Sydney based guitarist who composes and improvises 21st Century Art Music. The cut and splice, intellectual internal reference, and sonic blasts of his “10 Guitar Project“, combined with freebased improvisation have confirmed him as an audacious innovator. As well as pointed abstraction, David is known for his symmetrical handshakes and a beautiful take on traditional standards, particularly his use of reharmonisation and polyphony. David has a Master of Music degree in Composition from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and a Bachelor of Jazz Studies from the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music

Dida Pelled

Born:
Brooklyn-based, Native Tel-Avivian, Dida Pelled, is widely regarded as the greatest jazz guitarist this side of the Mississippi. Love of the Tiger, Pelled’s upcoming album, is the product of a jazz prodigy gone rogue. It is a love letter to the obscure, weaving across genres, twisting and turning with Pelled’s ever-expanding range of musical abilities and interests.
Pelled’s ambitions took shape as a child, when, entranced by bebop, she sequestered herself from the world and resolved to master guitar, later earning a spot in the Israeli Army band before training at the New School on a scholarship to study jazz. She quickly made a name for herself in the New York jazz scene, recording with Jazz masters like Roy Hargrove and Gregory Hutchinson and touring the world. As her jazz star rose, Pelled felt a pull toward classic American songwriting, shifting her direction and redefining her voice.

Born:
Dweezil Zappa was born on September 5, 1969 in Los Angeles—the son of Frank and Gail Zappa. It was inevitable that from the moment of his birth his life would be filled wall-to wall with music (his father having listed his religion as “musician” on Dweezil’s birth certificate). Dweezil’s early years were spent largely away from the spotlight—something of a rarity for the child of a celebrity, but perfect for cultivating a close relationship with his family. Having watched his father perform concerts from the side of the stage since he was in diapers it was no surprise that he began to show an interest in music early on

Kevin Smith

Although Kevin has always had an interest in music, he got a late start - not picking up the guitar until he was 16.
