Ferran Fages

Ferran Fages is an improviser and composer, and an international reference in the sphere of electroacoustic improvisation. Since the end of the 1990s, he has published over fifty discographic references on national and international labels. He has undertaken tours, performed concerts and led workshops around Europe and South America as well as in Canada and Japan. He plays guitar, resonant objects, acoustic turntable and electronics: “feedback mixing board”, pick-ups and oscillators. From 1999 until 2006 he was a member of the IBA col·lectiu d'improvisació, with whom he organised over one hundred concerts as well as the festivals Improvisa (2000-2003) and the Experimental Music Week at Metrònom (2005), among others. Besides his projects, he has shared a stage and made collaborations with musicians such as Christine Abdelnour, Sophie Agnel, Núria Andorrà, Derek Bailey, Pascal Battus, Tom Chant, David Chiesa, Albert Cirera, Sébastien Cirotteau, Angharad Davies, Rhodri Davies, Michel Doneda, Axel Dörner, Lluïsa Espigolé, Agustí Fernández, Jean-Philippe Gross, Will Guthrie, Robin Hayward, Barbara Held, Jason Kahn, Martin Küchen,Eduard Márquez, Wade Matthews, Mattin, Manuel Mota, Ivan Palacky, Ramon Prats, Eddie Prévost, Pablo Rega, Àlex Reviriego, Ernesto Rodrigues, Alejandro Rojas-Marcos, Ivo Sans, Joan Saura, Pilar Subirà, Vasco Trilla, Birgit Ulher, Taku Unami, Nikos Velliotis, Dafne Vicente-Sandoval, Mark Wastell, Christopher Williams and Ingar Zach among others. He has also worked with the choreographers and companies of Olga Mesa (1999), Lanónima Imperial (2003-2004), Carme Torrent (1999-2005), Ktonycia (2007), Constanza Brncic (2008-2009) and Merce Cunningham Dance Company (2009). Jason Seed

Born: February 17, 1972

Composer/Guitarist Jason Seed’s music has been performed by the Chicago Symphony, The Milwaukee Chamber Orchestra, Present Music, The Wroclaw Baroque Orchestra (Poland), The Icelandic Symphony’s Vijhalmsson Quartet, The Prometheus Trio, Accessible Contemporary Music and others. In Jazz Seed has worked as a guitarist with Bill Frisell, Scott Amendola, Jessica Lurie, Trey Gunn, Dan Trudell and many others, as well as fronting his own groups which have toured across the US and twice to Europe. Seed’s music has been heard in Poland, Holland, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and the Czech Republic and has sold well in Sweden and Norway. Seed’s genre-be-damned group, The Elixir Ensemble, has put out three records to great reviews and won the 2008 Independent Music Awards for the record Where the Corners Meet. Seed’s music has been played on WXRT, WFMT, NPR, WPR, PRI and countless internet radio stations and podcasts as far reaching as Brazil and Ukraine. In cinema Seed’s music has been featured in 2 scores for independent films and will be used for a live performance to a silent film at Chicago’s Chopin Theatre in April 2011. Seed studied jazz with David Baker at Indiana University and with William Russo in Chicago, and classical music with Ileana Perez-Velasquez and Douglas Lofstrom as well as pursuing a lifelong love of folk music and rock music on his own.

Lalo Galvan

Lalo Galvan is a guitarist originally from Mexico City. He graduated in Music at the UNAM. It has never stopped learning and has continued studying with teachers such as Scott Henderson, Danna Rach and Mike Goodrick name a few, both in Mexico and abroad. He has worked as a session musician for various artists productions in almost every genre. He has collaborated on several projects in styles ranging from Rock, Blues and Jazz including participation in a tour with the Philharmonic of Morelia. His work has also been extended to collaboration in various movies and short films. Rotem completed his studies in both classical composition and jazz performance with honors in Tel Aviv University and at The New School in NYC. Starting out in rock and funk bands in Hammar(Askersund) and later Vänersborg Tobias found his way into jazz through jazzfusion. Playing local jazzfestivals and gigs with the group Play´us who´s influences was among other the group Legends featuring Clapton, Miller, Gadd and Sandborn. Tobias moved to London and played at Blues clubs before coming back to music studies for 7 years ending at the university in Gothenburg.
