Jos van Dorresteijn

Born: March 5, 1959

Jos van Dorresteijn was born in the medieval centre of Utrecht in the Netherlands and brought up in the classical and church choir tradition of the Utrecht Cathedral. In his teens he learned to play piano and guitar and changed to rock music playing with his band Dzjunck. In his twenties he slowly drifted towards jazz and is now - besides still playing piano and guitar - also picking up on alto and tenor saxophones.

Guitarist-composer Sanjay Mishra has been described as abrilliant and innovative musician. Born In India, subsequentlybecoming a citizen of the United States, Sanjay plays with aneclecticism well suited to his multicultural background. Aftercompleting his studies at The Peabody Conservatory ofMusic, he began composing music that combined Easternand Western influences. In an interview with The WashingtonPost, he explains "I come from a tradition that has a lot ofimprovisation. Sometimes Western classical music can seema little rigid, I had to find some middle ground."

Sanjay first came to public acclaim for his album "BlueIncantation" with guitarist Jerry Garcia of The Grateful Dead.It is one of Mr. Garcia's rare collaborations in his late yearsand represents some of his last works.

Ivan Garzon

Born: May 1, 1980

Since he moved to Montreal in October 2007, Ivan has won the Montreal Guitar Grand Prix twice (2008 and 2009) and he has played in many venues and festivals, among others at the Montreal Jazz Festival’s Montreal Guitar Show. Ivan has studied with Dave Leibman, Adam Rogers, Jonathan Kreisberg, Ari Hoanig and Ben Monder.Recently he has received a grant from Conseil des arts et des lettres du Quebec to study with Dave Liebman workshop. He has played with renowned Montreal jazz musicians. Ivan is also a member of the Denis Chang Manouche. With this group, he participated in the Pacific Contact Showcase and has played in many festivals and cultural centers throughout Quebec and British Columbia. In Mexico and Spain, ha played in many festivals, culture centers, universities, hotels, restaurants and bars
