Kenji Haba

Kenji Haba is a guitarist who heralds a new direction for classical guitar through his insight and work with the coloration of sounds, as well as through bringing new formats to the landscape, including the innovative guitar-cello ensemble. RODRIGO NASSIF

Rodrigo Nassif is one of the finest guitar players in Brazil. He was awarded the best instrumental performer Açorianos Prize in 2009, one of the most important prize in Brazil. Recently he was labelled by UOL música as “a national reference for Brazilian instrumental music”. He released three albums before forming his quartet, selling over five thousand copies. Rodrigo style has been classified as jazzmilonga, mixing-folk influenced by chamamé, tango-milonga with several other components of classical guitar. Rodrigo is used to play in the best stages of Brazil , such as Blue Note Club RJ , and Sesc Pompéia in São Paulo. George Christian is a composer who was born in Salvador, August 10th, 1981. His artistic beginnings were in the poetry and drawing fields, but it was through music and his guitar that he’s decided to show his face to the (virtual) world, releasing his first solo album, Às Vezes Sempre in 2010, by the French label Stomoxine Records.Since 2013, he’s been performing sporadically solo or as a guest, having also some passages in some groups. George now has 15 albums in his resume, released bythe following labels: Deep White Sound, Boolean Records (extinct), Spectropol Records, Plataforma Records, SattvaLand Records, Sê-lo Netlabel, Mansarda Records and, now, Zpoluras Archives

Daniel Giron

Daniel Girón was born in Bogota Colombia , and from a very early age, his interest in music was evident. At the age of 16, he began to teach himself to play guitar. By age 17, seeking a more solid foundation, he began his Classical guitar studies in the School of Music Luis A. Calvo in Bogota under the direction of Humberto Franco. Later, he commenced college studies in music at the Pedagogica Nacional University, where he took classes with the great Colombian guitarist and composer Gentil Montana . His studies there included flamenco guitar and modern harmony with Robeto Martinez. Daniel attended Great Lectures of Classical Guitar instructed by Eduardo Fernandez, Leo Brower, Tomas Patterson, and Alirio Diaz, among other great Maestros. Daniel's career has included numerous recitals in well-known Halls and Theaters in Bogota , along with great performances of Colombia 's Folk music

«Meander» is Jo David Meyer Lysne album debut. The music on the record is mainly written by Lysne and are sometimes inspired by the landscape surrounding Sluten at Filefjell, where the first compositions were made. Beautiful and nordic landscape is reflected through quietly, acoustic and dynamic interplay where the melodies, compositions and free improvisations forms for the dance acoustic interplay between acoustic guitar and contrabass. Lysne is working on expanding the timbers of the guitar, and this opens up for doing new things within the traditional guitar/bass duo-format, and makes the duo take unexpected directions and presenting different soundscapes

Giacomo Fiore

Giacomo Fiore is an Italian guitarist and musicologist who has performed across the United States, Brazil, Canada, and Europe, giving world and U.S. premieres of classical, just intonation, and electric guitar works by Larry Polansky, Ron Nagorcka, Kenji Oh, Garry Eister, Agustin Castilla-Avila, and many others. He has appeared at the Sarzana, Healdsburg, Sierra Nevada, Santa Barbara, and Cervo Guitar Festivals, released several solo recordings, and published articles in Classical Guitar and Ukulele magazines. Currently he teaches at USF, the SF Conservatory, and UCSC, and is a member of the new music ensemble Wild Rumpus.
